Is that Pizza Hut? ;-)

gloss black, built in wi-fi, internal hard drive, touch sensitive buttons... add a blu-ray and its basically a PS3 phat

People only make a review on the review area mostly when they have had bad service and want to complain about it, after all, the people who have got what they wanted won't have time to write a review because they are playing with it. (okay that might be an restatement but you see where I am coming from)

I would definitely trust the hut.

If indeed the PS3 slim was even remotely slim

Only with games you want to play

I think £199 is about the normal price you can order from any retailer
Just wait a few weeks there must be some bundle deals in store in ASDA, Sainsburys, Argos or HMV

can these be flashed ?

I think its a bit early to say, and I wouldn't expect them to be flashed anytime soon. Especially without soldering.

You can definitely play online with a modded Xbox 360 (I believe that's what flashed means right? modded?). I know friends who always play online with a modded console. The thing is though, there's obviously that risk that it will be banned by Microsoft - I read over 400,000 modded consoles were banned from Live when Modern Warfare 2 was released.

It's possible, it's just whether you believe the reward to be worth the risk - personally I like my Xbox nice, clean and legal.

I play on my 360 perfectly fine and I am not online. :?

Thats one ugly looking console.

thinking about getting one from Gamestation is £50 Trade-in for an arcade console good price.

Very good price for the hardware you are getting IMO, its got the latest chipset, using considerably less power, makes no noise (other than dvd drive spinning not much can be done about that), generates virtually no heat. Plus the extra functionality, fastest wifi now inbuilt, loads of usb ports. Now looks really nice as well.

The new retail of the arcade is going to be £99 / 99 euro as well by the looks of it, the old elite model will end up at around £150 with 120gb HDD.

No doubt the 360 offers the best value hardware wise this generation now.

The Hut's ok but they're terrible at honouring Quidco and I wouldn't rely on them for release day but you'll likely get it very soon after. Would still use them if the price was right.

Really?? The lack of Blu-Ray, lack of rechargeable controllers and the premium you have to pay to play online makes me think otherwise.... that said, i'll probably pick one up around xmas when come down a bit...

Never had a problem with TheHut or the many other companies they run (Zavvi etc), although ive only ever ordered games and dvds/blurays from them, not something this expensive. Wouldnt be suprised to see Kinect bundled with this in the near future.

Thing is do people buying a games console want blu ray ? 100 million + people buying wii & 360s would seem to suggest otherwise I have a ps3 but I never watch blu ray movies on it, everything is going towards downloads and on demand hd tv cable or sat anyway. The games take forever to load on the ps3 due to the br drive and everytime you switch it on you have to spend 10 minutes doing firmware upgrades. Not my idea of fun personally.

I just stick rechargable batteries in my 360 controllers - they last twice as long as my ps3 pad and they cost pennies, also when the pad if flat you just stick another couple in unlike the ps3 you have to plug it into the console which means I can use it anymore. So I actually see that as a big advantage personally, the batteries cant be replaced in the ps3 pad so when they are finished you have to chuck the pad.

Finally you pay for the live online service but I wouldnt call it a premium - £25 - £30 a year for a much much better system party chat, proper lobby and party system, unified gammer tags, proper gammer unified gammer points and stats system, loads of decent live exclusive content. In any event sony are rolling out a paid PSN service soon which will feature some of live functionality but we all know it still wont be as good and they will be going back on yet another promise not to charge for their online service.

Finally can you pickup a new ps3 for £100 ? Becuase soon you will be able to pickup a 360 arcade for that much.

This new hardware with faster wifi is also around £50 - £60 less than the current ps3 slim pricing, so really I dont see where you are comming from but I guess some people are not objective.

Watched them announce this live, very awesome lol. I want one of these, but will wait for the Kinect bundle later in the year!

Very well said!

Good price for this since they were charging £70 for the wifi... You still have to pay to play online though right? It's not gonna work for me until they scrap that.

£70?!?!? They have been around £35 for ages, where do you shop RRPworld?!?! You do realise that Live works out at about £2.20 per MONTH don't you? Thats like, one can of pop a week, if you can't afford that I'd suggest you need to re-work your finances a bit :-D

I hope you realise he means that Gamestation will give £50 for his Arcade and NOT that you can get the new Slim for only £50 if you trade in an Arcade.

I think you have to ring/ go to store as the prices change too rapidly for them to be on the net. I got £90 for my knackered old 20gb Premium (it was hanging by a thread with intermittant RROD) so I'd say this is not unheard of

You can get a 12 month sub online for around the £25 mark if you do some serious searching. Still even at £30 a year it's still value for money (£2.50 per month) although I agree it should be cheap if not free, however the gaming industry is evolving and eventually Sony and ultimatley Nintendo are going to charge later on down the line.

Ahhh, I did think it was too good to be true. The sentence structure confused me.

never, ever had any issue with the hut.

Will this unit still come with the three year manufacturer warranty? Sorry if this has already been mooted.

I would be wary of buying into a new SDK that has yet to be battle proven. Have had every console since the Megadrive (including Sega Saturn, Bandai Wonderswan etc...) and never had any issues with any of them. I have completed 3 Xbox 360 games and am now on my third console...
