if you could put the old hard drives into these this (without voiding any warranties) then i'd be all over it like a rash. good deal if you're after the 4gb but I can't imagine why anyone would be...

can you not add usb "stick" hard drives?

I guess people who would rather spend time using the thing, than cleaning off dust and fingerprints. People like me then.

Hot vote from me. I'm holding out for a white one though.

You CAN!!!!

Just use a torx screwdriver to open the hard drive case and remove the standard 2.5 inch hard drive inside, place it inside the hard drive compartment with abit of foam so it sits neatly in your new Xbox 360 Slim.

Or if you don't have a Torx screwdriver of the right size, just smash it with a hammer, the hard drive is hardly worth anything anyway. 2.5inch hard drives don't "break"...well they do but the failiure rate is practically zero unlike 3.5inch hard drives.

You won't lose any warranty on the Xbox itself,

It's so easy, and even easier now with the new Slim xbox taking normal 2.5inch hard drives with no need for a case...just buy a normal laptop Western Digital Scorpio BEVS 250GB or BEVT 250GB...

Look from a program called "hddhackr"

Make a bootable flopp\CD with hddhackr and a downloaded 250GB SS.bin file (easy to find with google).

Type "hddhackr"

A list of hard drives appears, then type "hddhackr" again followed by the number in the list you want to hack...type the name of the SS.bin when asked, wait 10 seconds...reboot....

Finished, you now have a 250GB Xbox hard drive for the cost of about £30.

In fact it's 2 x 16gb.
36gb is considered by many as good enough.

Being able to use all the old hard drive sizes is very useful & now the DIY to 250gb is out it's an even better deal for many.

I believe they now have 5 usb ports? so 16 x 5 +4! ..... er where are you Carol lol

You can only have 2 USB storage devices for 360 content connected at any one time.
So 2 x 16GB max.

This is a great deal for anyone looking for a replacement console.
+ U can get a WD Black 250GB 7200rpm HDD for around £35 now.

i have a 120gb in mine. good price if you have an old hd.

I might have to give this ago.

good price heat added

have these new models been flashed yet?

If some supplier would make a replica slim hard drive caddy, we'd be all set. I'm not quite comfortable leaving my hard drive hanging on the connector...

This is all I am waiting for, then I'll probably go the same route. I can't imagine it'll be long before some 3rd party makes a cheap plastic shroud, especially since Microsoft have said that it won't void the warranty on the Xbox to do this.

There is new firmware and anti-piracy measures in place on the new Slim models, which make it much harder to flash. One team have supposedly done it, but their video proof is being called into question.

The Virgin Credit Card 10% discount may work on this as well - zavvi.metafaq.com/hel…ard

EDIT: Looks like it's not working

I have no doubt Team HyperX have hacked the new 360 S.
he video does seem sketchy, but I'm sure there is a reason for it. ie. not showing Microsoft any of their secrets, but still announcing they've done it.
They should have just announced it without a questionable video.

it doesnt hang. it goes in and sits nicely.

I need one of these for a xmas present so is it worth getting now from here?

Can't see being much cheaper before then will it?

Was looking at the 250 gb version but lads got a 60gb hard drive already so will stick that in if its as ready as people say..

code not working for me

So can you install a normal hard drive in this one which has the 4gb flash memory or not? Getting conflicting information about it..

Got my. Arrived today. Moved HDD from old Xbox. After RRoD, removing X-clamps and changing thermal paste old XBox was still overheating.
Great deal came in just the right moment

ZAVVIFIVE no longer taking £5 off.
