I myself wouldn't bother but what I was saying this is a decent price, this 500GB bundle is usually around 150 quid new.

Wish you could still get brand new PS3's with 500 plates inside for around one and half I'll tell you that for nothing

On amazon warehouse you can get a xbox one for less than this, my mate got one recently for £130 - a fifa pack from last year and it came new and sealed.

To be fair a ps3 is more desirable right now than a xbox 360.... backward capability on the xbox one and all that.

I still have my ps3 hooked up. I bought a xbox one recently so the 360 is retired currently. Ive kept it as not all games are backward compatible.

Ps3 is a cracking console still..

Region free for games (which on the ps3 is useful especially for me as I can play NCAA football/Basketball) and if you had ps+ for a few years the library of games you can have stored is massive.

I still got the 320GB Star Wars edition 360 which works perfectly and of course there's BC on the Xbone too but because my PS3 is a bit unwell and seeing I still got loads games for it I'd gladly play from time to time I would buy a new one at the right price.

These days, a bit to much for a 360.

I would have thought sub-£100 is more the level now.

I agree, even without ps plus though it offers free online play unlike the Xbox 360.

I'd buy a second hand one if you only want it for a few months, should be able to pick them up pretty cheap in the local classified.

Game & CEX are (or were) knocking 2nd hand ones out for about £50 - cex with a 2 year warranty as well. 360 games (that are backwards compatible) are best played on the Xbox one, but if you don't have one, I'd pick up a 2nd hand 360 in a heart beat. 360 games on the whole are very cheap.

I picked up a PS3 slim without a box for about £60 and a bucketful of games for only a few quid more. The console was pretty grubby, but after going over it with some anti-bac wipes for about 3 mins it looks like new and works a treat.

My son plays more on the pc than a console but his pc is only a Am1 setup so not great at all.
We was going to get the wii u console but thats dated now.

Are these more reliable than the Xbox 360 S? Less likely to get the red dot?

That's something that CeX should do themselves. After all, they're the ones selling it and expecting people to buy it. It baffles me that they don't and then wonder why no one buys it. Of course, someone will eventually buy it regardless of its crappy condition.

My lads 9 and we have a PS4, Xbox One and Wii U. Apart from the Lego games I struggle to find many games suitable for the PS4 or Xbone. At least with first party Nintendo titles your pretty safe.

Not really draconian, conscientious parenting. I'm sure there are lots of things kids can be exposed to elsewhere, doesn't mean standards have to be lowered at home.

What a load of old tosh my life! Sorry but both my boys were allowed to play any video game they wanted from the moment they got in to playing them, yet one is at Uni whilst the other is in his final year at school and wants to become a doctor.

Neither of them has ever even been nicked and the eldest hasn't even ever had a tear up whilst I'd been expelled from two schools before I turned 16 and had season tickets in various cells of numerous old bill stations round my manor whilst growing up.

Oh and guess what, I had ZERO interest in video games till my late teens and yes I know it was a different time but I didn't watch any ASBO TV shows or films either. You see a wild child is wild without playing wild games or watching wild media you know (_;)

That is why we thought the Nintendo switch might be better for him hopefully more kid friendly games rather than violence all the time. The xbox 360 must have loads of kids friendly games now and i know the xbox one hasn't or the ps4 they seem to be aimed more at anyone over 16.

Don't get me wrong there are still games a younger person can on the PS4/Xbone, my son plays FIFA 17, Rocket League, Roblox I just think there's more 'family' gaming on the Wii U. I'm in a position where I'll buy all the consoles regardless (as its my interest as well). Don't forget though that as a longer term investment (in the console and games) an 8/9 year old wont want to be playing 'kiddie' games in a few years time.

Why would you take parenting advice from anyone, did you not learn enough from growing up with your own parents and observing the parents of your pals then?

My old man was a professional academic who did well in life and wanted me to be the same but I had my own mind. See he pushed me and tried to be strict and like 90% of kids with a pushy demanding wxxxxr parent I rebelled against it.

Am I glad my two boys have been 'good'uns' well course I am but they're never going to have the adevntures and laughs I had so I wouldn't change what I did for the world. Yet at 44 years old here I am about to buy my third property cash having signed the paperwork at my brief's yesterday.

There is only one person in this whole country able to say he was the youngest England fan nicked at Euro 88, twice in fact Stuttgart and Düsseldorf. Yep that was me and because it was less than a fortnight after my 16th birthday the Consulate had to send people to the respective nicks to get me out

Exactly why I can't begin to tell you how much pleasure I get when hearing that kids of darconian folks have turned out right handfuls because it makes me feel all the more vindicated having chosen the 'relaxed parenting' route with mine which makes me think yeah I must be at least a bit lovely eh (_;)

I think my kids appreciate having not had their old man try bullying them through their childhood, whilst you appear to be condoning that very practice.

Unless of course you own four or more properties mortgage free and consider owning 'only' three irresponsible financial house keeping?

Not wanting your 9 year old playing violent gaming = bullying

Having been through prison and being the youngest football hooligan = badge of honour

Being financially stable = being a good parent and person.

You may now be 44 and financially stable but I'm afraid you still have a lot to learn sunshine.

Pushing your kids about is bullying, wasn't necessarily talking about restricting what video games they play specifically but that's part of it sorry.

Never been in gaol and was more in to having an earner in the surrounding chaos whilst the real hooligans were doing their thing up the front than risk getting myself opened up so perhaps you should refrain from making off quay assumptions.

Does that equate to being financially unstable thus running the risk of leaving your family homeless make you a good parent in your eyes then?

Getting confused signals here but then again you called me sunshine and the only person I know under the age of 60 who uses that term happens to be the biggest bell I know but perhaps you're different?

Edited by: "Chasloyal" 10th Dec 2016

Nothing off quay about the assumptions, you were nicked twice. Your boast not mine. Okay, you were in and out of jail cells in your Manor (again your words), not prison (however little difference given the implied frequency).

Glad we agree, not wanting your kids to play violent video games is not bullying, think that was the point in the first place.

I'm sure I am a complete bell, however if it is for the reason that I'm not on a money saving site boasting about my money and my chequered past then I'll live with that.

I'm sure it wasn't your intention to come across that way

Your initial "you sound lovely " said so much more than anything and everything you've said since.

Unless you weren't sprinkling the greatest amount of sarcasm seasoning since the days of Wogan on Brusselsvision you were implying I am uneducated lowlife/loser/ sc um.

After all my tos ser of an old man was a refugee from socialist controlled Eastern Europe pre Berlin Wall coming down and as many of my friends we spent much of our youth getting our collars felt. I left school at 15 with no qualifications, in fact the first school I got lobbed out of was a private one I gained a 90% fee reduction scholarship for at 11 years of age.

I loved aggro, I was good at choring and I went out of my way to walk the opposite path my folks wanted me to take yet I've still done ok and have even been able to spend the last five years caring for my infirm elderly mother full time

So yeah if me being proof that kids who go loco getting in to untold trouble against their pushy controlling/bullying parents still go on and do ok is "boasting" then guilty as charged and proudly so.

Just remember though, not all kids who turn on their pushy parents end up finding their way in later life and you know who I'd point the finger at when that happens Merry Christmas
Edited by: "Chasloyal" 10th Dec 2016
