Has anyone actually got proof of that or is it just one of those chinese whispered rumours that have got out of hand..I would find it hard to believe that GAME would send employees out to buy these in at 99.97 and then just make 20 quid profit instore, when they must already be buying them in for this price or less as it is, just wouldn't make sense.

Agreed. Can anyone verify this? :?

interesting!

Interesting, but strangely it still doesn't make much sense, apart from maybe WIi's with the usual Nintendo stock shortages, I cant see why without a shortage of Xbox 360s that GAME & Gamestation stafff would want to bother getting additional 360s from Sainsburys when surely they must be buying them in already for less than 99.97/139.97

I know they did this years ago when I was a manager at Game, I forget which console it was but remember sending out each member of staff to buy machines from a competitor as instructed by head office. Dont' work there now so can't confirm on the xbox360, but if they've done it before. :whistling: Also, the margins on the hardware is very small so a £30 reduction on a console can make a difference and the games they sell with the bundles are already pre-discounted with the publisher/microsoft.

The mark up on consoles is only around £10-£15.

But still, 360's are being traded in left, right and centre and there's a greater mark up on second hand goods so I agree. Why bother.

I might go in to game and get the staff to pull me out a wii with loads of games and accessories. When they give me the price I’ll say “I’m sorry, how much? My calculation was £30 cheaper. That is how much you purchased them from Sainsbury’s for!”

Anyway, doesn’t that make them second hand?

They've lost my custom for screwing over the consumer. (My brother missed out as his local sold out!)

Yep, guess this thread better get back on topic, what store OP? and has anyone else been into their local Tesco to confirm this, also why are people already voting this deal hot and not posting whether they have seen this deal themselves instore?

Sorry. I mean't verify the price.

Has anyone else seen them at this price or called up?

Heat pending.

same here my vote is on hold until more then 5 stores have them instock for that price, as the sainsburys one got ridiculously big heat and i rang all of the north west about 10 stores nearly every day or so, and didnt have any luck

im gonna check when i go into work .......... i get 10% so £89.98 for a xbox360 :-D:-D

dang why did i have to pay £130 from gamestation :x ..........

Same here, vote pending, as usual things are voted hot before anyone can actually confirm this, OP details are somewhat vague so far.

im going to wait till asda do their price cuts as I have access to the discount card and can get a further 10% off

Another way of looking at it is, with game/gamestation buying up all the supermarket stock - the supermarkets dont have any left, so the buyers have no choice but to turn to game/gamestation etc so even if they only make a small profit on them, by buying up the stock (and in effect elliminating a competitor) they will get more sales.

if i find any game or gamestation workers buying stock from tesco or sainsburys, im gonna wait till they get out of the store and rob all their consoles. either that or torture them somehow so beware !!!!

Does anyone know if the forthcoming dashboard update will finally allow DIVX playback through the Media Center Extender, I know it currently will play DIVX through the usual video menu, but not through Media Center Extender. If the next update allows this, then serously for a ton the 360 Arcade, coupled with a wireless AP makes for a great alternative to a media center PC in the lounge.

Thus attempting to monopolise the industry.....

I have seen a 99.97 price tag on an xbox 360 in Tesco the other day. But that was for the discontinued Core model.

which leaves us all Sshhh out of luck

I've rung around a few local stores and finally found one with the arcade version but he's zapped it with the price check gun and it's the £129.97 price :x
I know Bargain Crazy have the arcade for £122.95 delivered, arcade with Harry Potter £132.95 delivered and the PS3 40GB with 3 games for £288.95 delivered if that helps anyone.

haha, reps up. !!!

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

my local tesco are selling the arcade for £129.97 so cold from me sorry

Remember that if you are buying an Arcade without the hard drive that the next dashboard update which is due on 19th Nov requires 128mb of storage. So you WILL have to buy either a large memory card or HDD.

Personally I don't think it's worth buying an arcade at the moment unless you can source a cheap HDD. This is possibly why they are selling cheap, as after the dashboard update an Arcade on its own will be useless.

It comes with a 256mb memory card.

but by the time you've added a few game saves (which can be quite sizeable depending on the game) that 256 card will be full.

Try Comet. £20 for 20 gigs £60 for 120. Heard that the 20 gig ones were now a tenner but not confirmed that yet.

my local store doesn't have this deal. Will someone check this out elsewhere and stop adding heat until confirmed!!
