Not sure if this has been posted but if you buy the xbox arcade at argos you get viva pinata and forza 2 for free. Seems pretty good deal. The games are also free for the pro and elite. Hope it helps someone and sorry if it has been posted :-)

Sounds like an ace deal to me:thumbsup:

Agreed - the lower the price of entry to this generation the better...

It is not advertised on the site but when you add the three items into your basket the price drops down to £159.99 again

I stand corrected! Good deal then. Both of these games can be had cheap, but at worst its £15 worth of games thrown in. They're not too bad as games either!

Unfortunately the xbox at shopto is out of stock, plus you can get this instore today or delivery

Great deal, anything that's cheaper than the gimmicky wii deserves a hot vote.

I wouldnt buy if you plan on playing GTA, you will need to shell out the extra £60 for a Hard drive

I would think a fair few (me included) are thinking of getting an Arcade to upgrade our older Premiums to HDMI. So we would already have an HDD.

Didn't know that about GTA though.

If anyone can point out where it has been stated that a hard drive is required for GTA4 then please do. I'm sure the hard drive will be useful - especially if you want do download the extra content at a later date. But at this point the arcade should be enough for playing through the main game.

The £5 is not needed for reserve & pickup, just add the Arcade console and the 2 games for the same price quoted by the OP £159.99:thumbsup:

PS these 2 games are free with any 360 console from Argos

nice price.
Just be warned after 6 months Argos do not replace or repair a faulty xbox, it is policy to give you the details of microsoft for you to organise your own repair.
I argued for a week at different levels, and even contacted trading standards and still ended up having to go the microsoft route!

Amazing console though!

Enjoy

tesco have the console without the games for 150 if you dont want pinata or forsa 2 (lol i dont :P)

I'd be interested in hearing that conversation with trading standards as it's technically breaking the law, and I just cannot see them saying "oh there's nothing you can do" as your "contract" is ALWAYS with the seller and not a third party supplier. So, unless you've got the wrong end of the stick, you can bet your house that if if develops a genuine fault then under the description of "merchantable quality" you would be entitled to a replacement OR a repair,

but argos were taking the route that they were offering a repair service by referring me to microsoft. As they were not allowed to give replcaement consoles without microsoft checking them first.
I spoke to the manager, customer services who all told me the same thing.
Trading standards said it was bad practice but not illegal :?

Thats why I tend to favour somewhere like ]Gamestation or my local place ]Grainger Games as they seem more willing to replace a faulty console. May not get all the free games that the larger places offer but I can trade in my old games to get a bigger discount.

I agree, on my third Xbox in a year from Gamestation, not due to hardware failure with my 360's, but because I am a fussy bu*ger who couldnt put up with the noise and wanted a newer falcon motherboard with the cooler CPU chipset. In my experience Gamestation have a no fuss returns on new 360's within the warranty period.

As we all know, great games, great controller, great graphics, great online...great all round games console, unlike the PS3 currently....however totally flawed hardware design, and Microsoft since laucnh in November 2005 are *still* working to get it right 2.5 years later!

Whilst they *seem* to be on the way to eradicating the problems of older 360's I still think its worth considering shops returns policies under warranty before investing in a brand new 360 over cost. I know this forum is all about money saving and the best deals, but any extra game bargains may not be worth it. Ask yourself this question.

Problems with your 360 under warranty, would you prefer returning it to a shop for an instant swap or would you be prepared for your console to be at the mercy of Microsofts returns centre for 2 weeks plus, for a refurbished replacement unit for the sake of having an extra game or two?

Will check this offer out later:thumbsup:

EDIT

Is there a way of telling that you have the new falcon chip etc from the unopened box, seeing as Argos do not allow returns?
