Was looking for an official Wireless receiver for my PC so I could use one of my wireless xbox360 controllers and stumbled upon this bundle for £22.99

Not bad considering you get an official black xbox360 controller and the wireless receiver (plus 2xAA battery's)

How much could I sell the receiver for, since that's a pretty good price for the controller alone..

You'd probably get about £10 for the receiver, dodgy knock-offs sell for £5-£8

Did either of you actually bother reading the post properly before commenting? Because it looks like you read 'Xbox 360 Wireless Controller' and then stopped. Yes, £22.99 is about usual price for an Xbox 360 wireless controller these days, but this also includes a wireless receiver for your PC, which normally sells for about £10 separately, so this is worth around £33.

A controller on its own at this price got over 500 heat 4 weeks ago so this deserves to get even hotter. I've been looking at getting a receiver and was considering a cheap third party one but I could also do with a new controller so at this price it's a no-brainer!

how laggy are these controllers on a pc, compared to a wired 360 controller ?

Did you? BrumGB was kind enough to include the camelcamelcamel graph in the post you quoted, ya know, the one you should of looked at before you ranted on others for doing the same

Heat even if it is the standard price on Amazon (when they have stock ;)) for this.

I bought this a couple of months back, sold the receiver on eBay for £12.85 buy it now.

Theres no lag whatsoever, you wont notice the difference lag wise between wired/wireless due to the 2.4Ghz

I'd recommend picking up a rechargeable battery pack with this too.

No lag at all. Had mine for a few years now, still going strong.

Heat added. £23 for a 360 controller is a steal, and that's even better when you consider the wireless receiver; had one of those for about 3 years and it's been an absolute godsend for controller-based vidya.

Would this work on Linux ? (Ubuntu 12). I would like a controller for MAME.

Does the controller have to be in 'line of sight' with the wireless receiver?

not really

Great price for what it is but pretty much the going rate for it now on Amazon. The 360 pad is pretty much the best controller for pc atm, I'm sure the XB1 will supplant it eventually but for prob at least double the cost of this.

jsty3105

not really

Not at all. It's using 2.4Ghz wireless so as long as it's in range.

Considering the £10 minimum you have to pay for a genuine Microsoft receiver alone, this is a good price (ideal for anyone thinking of streaming some Steam...)

LMAO, I love how you specified the size of the hdmi cable. hahaha

I have one of these and it's the worst piece of junk I've ever used - the biggest problem is that the controller always disconnects randomly and the lights start flashing on the controller while it tries to reconnect. It happens all the time and can sometimes take forever to reconnect with the receiver again - It is extremely annoying and makes it totally unusable especially if you like online FPS multiplayer. It has nothing to do with weak batteries, USB ports, interference or anything like that - same happens on brand new batteries and it has nothing to do with distance from the receiver either. This is a very common problem if you look online and there is a real lack of support for this product by Microsoft. The software seems to be a joke. Microsoft didn't even think to design this so you could switch it off yourself - most people actually physically pull the battery pack out between use, that's how much thought went into this product(??). The batteries also die really quickly, even if you don't use it. If I was recommending a controller for the PC, I would recommend absolutely anything but this.

No, they're right. The controller AND receiver has been this price for AGES on Amazon (sometimes dipping as low as £22.85), I know because it's been in my wishlist for months now.

Doesn't make it a bad deal, it's a great deal and deserves the heat. Just nothing new.

Seems odd to write off one of the best controller ever made just because you didn't have the foresight to by a rechargeable battery pack!

I've never had the connection/disconnection problems that you mention, sounds like yours is faulty (controller or receiver). There will always be a vocal minority of unhappy customers online experiencing problems with a particular product. And I don't know what you mean by "software" - I've never had to install 'software', just drivers that auto-install and I've been good-to-go ever since.

Either return it (if you can) or just buy another one.

So how many controllers can you connect to a single receiver?

The connection/disconnection problem is very widespread on the PC and you are lucky if it doesn't affect you. There are certainly many others with this problem.

My comments have nothing to do with the ergonomics of this controller or using it on anything other than the PC. The serious problem of randomly disconnecting affects PC users and not xbox owners - the PC receiver and software microsoft put together is rubbish.

Also, the 'Drivers' that install for this device automatically is software, made by Microsoft. A driver is software.

Careful with Flubit, they sent me the controller without the PC receiver and wouldn't refund the postage back. Ended up costing me more.

I think it bold to assert that one is lucky if it doesn't affect them rather than unlucky if it does.

You could consider drivers as software, but there's no interaction/interface. I don't see how drivers can be described as a joke if they install and work (which they do)!

It's really not working as it should for you, why not replace it? It's the best wireless controller out there for PC (build quality, price, compatibility etc). I use a Razer Sabertooth, but when I want to go wireless this is by far the best option.

Never had an issue with 2 receivers and 6 different controllers across 2 gaming pc's, a htpc and multiple laptops. All running win7 mind.
