What a strange world, where a controller costs more than the console.
After the horror stories from reddit I still wouldnt touch one of these

Imho a controller at this price shouldn't have a single defect, the original controller is far more stable than this and is a quarter of the price

It's not designed to make you play better.

It's a premium product, much like a cheap office chair compared to a full leather one that vibrates and has speaker. You can sit on both if them, sure. But one will be more comfy.

My old controllers feel like toys compared to this. Not for everyone I understand that, but if gaming is your hobby like mine you'd be hard pressed to find a more comfortable, customisable controller

Version ones problems are mainly cosmetic, V2 has buttons that either stick, press themselves or don't work at all.

I was lucky to purchase an xbox one X of a friend which came with the older elite with about £70 games in cex exchange value all for for £200.

It's a nice control basicly cost me nothinng wasn't expecting it.

I love it for pc gaming best ive had.. but if it broke would I buy another for price not a chance in hell.
I got an older Elite console for £99 last year and it came with this controller. Had to detach the annoying leaf paddles underneath but it is a superb controller nonetheless. Wouldn;t buy one at this price though.

Microsoft need to rethink their controllers jack port had to have 4 repairs to 3 of my controllers all with the jack port.

Why no have a male jack with a magnetic stud then a adapter from magnetic stud to female jack port then creates less wear and tear on that port or just had magnetic part and a magnetic adapter to attach to the head set to create a. Magnetic connection
Will I be top 10 in Fortnite every round if I buy this?

Fyi. I had mine on release. Seeing no problems at all. Solid controller. Dont believe the haters.
If I’d not got the 1st edition white one - with no probs may I add, I’d buy this. You only hear horror stories about something and not the good things. It’ll change your gaming life, brothers and sisters!! Hallelujah, Father bumflaps!!!

Are you sure it’s version 2? The Elite Console edition had the Elite V1 controller.

My elite controller had the rubber coming away from the grips after 10 months on the first one and 15 months on the second (thankfully I had bought the extended warranty from Argos after the first failed). Got a refund rather than get a third that would almost certainly fail too..

Try one for a couple of days then come back and tell us your £13.99 controller is just as good.

If gaming is your hobby and you spend a lot of time playing games I think it's worth investing a few quid to have the best experience possible. I know people who spend a lot more money than £130 on their hobbies.
Any problems with the warranty with buying from French Amazon do you think? My original Elite has given up the ghost so want to be sure there wouldn't be any problems if I needed to return it, once bitten twice shy etc etc.
It's a good deal but not sure i'd jump with what I've heard about them on reddit.
Ordered, thanks OP

Microsoft would like you to think its a premium item but it aint the only thing premium is the price tag i had nothing but issue's with my first gen pad the standard pad is better option if this was £70 it would still be bad compeared to it

Some people just more money than sense,
sadly.
I really wish the V1 had gotten Bluetooth. I can't really justify upgrading to the v2 for that a few other small features.
Amazing deal hot from me.

Roll on all the usual comments: how much for a controller.. too expensive never pay for one etc..

You can't just say don't believe the haters because your controller has no defects. Other people clearly have had faulty controllers and are unhappy, considering the price I don't blame them. Most importantly they've saved me a lot of money.
So while I had to go through 2 faulty ones (thumbstick drift on first and paddle not registering when being pressed unless really hard on second) I really love this controller.

Got the the 3 year extended warranty when bought it from Microsoft store just incase it has issues over time like the original elite controller did but honestly I hate using any other controller after using this.
Got mine yesterday, don't understand why people are saying its plasticity. Feels the same as my series 1 just abit lighter.
The real question here is what a fee free card is? hmmm

As I said the first lasted 10 months the second 15 months before wear was apparent.

A £130 controller sold as the ultra premium edition should not need any extra cover on it. I did prefer the feel of the elite over the standard controller, it felt nicer to use, but not £130 every one to two years nicer.
Why would anyone ever spend this much on a controller, get yourselves a mouse and keyboard and game like an adult.

I've had mine for 3 months and it works flawlessly, this is 30 off what I paid so a very good price indeed, the new controller is usb c and and has a docking station within the case that charges, also the Internal battery actually works for 20 plus hours as advertised.

In the same vein just because they had problems doesn't mean you will. Reporting bias is a very real thing and people need to take it into account when looking at bad reviews, or people moaning about faults.
How do I know which of my cards are fee free? And if they do charge a fee for currency conversion what are we looking at?
I've got a fair few cards to choose from but no idea if they will incur a charge!

I wasnt disputing your experience, however not all users have the same problems.

I picked mine up from Argos in the 2018 deal for £105.00 with Forza 4 which I sold for £28 and had a £10 voucher so it was nearer £73 in relative terms. The cover costs £10 which for me has protected my controller which is functionally far more superior to the standard version.

By your logic... an £800+ phone shouldnt need a case or screen protector or an expensive car shouldnt need the paint waxed! Its just an extra measure you can choose to take to protect your goods. All that aside I agree 10-15 months is not acceptible but a cover would help prevent this.
