I done some looking around on google to find an alternative way to get a wireless connection on my xbox without spending the ridiculous £60 for microsofts version.
All you need is a laptop/desktop with WiFi & a ethernet (or crossover cable for PC users)
i personally use a macbook and use a cross over cable and everything works perfect if not better than Microsoft's wireless connection. Below is tutorial videos on how to do it for mac and PC, i used the mac one and does seem a bit easier. I have also supplied the crossover cable that i have purchased to get it working which is £2.99 with free shipping from play BARGAIN! ..... ENJOY!

For Mac : (WORKS as this is the one i used)

The xbox 360 contains Auto MDI-X and doesn't require a cross over cable (it'll figure it out in hardware and automagically work), so a regular ethernet cable will do for this. Though not really a deal, more information!

Also, if you're using a router to get wireless internet, the internet connection sharing software adds a second layer of NAT to the network for the 360, which basically means no-one will be able to connect to your xbox, meaning you'll have problems containing to many multiplayer games on live. On pre-NXE consoles, during a network test it would show the status of your nat, Open, Moderate or Restricted, but in NXE it will only show in the network test if your nat isn't open.

I wouldn't want to have to boot my PC just to get the 360 online. The £10 homeplugs on her today are a much better budget option. Otherwise any Wireless bridge can be used, many of which are cheaper than the dedicated Xbox one and can also be used to connect other wired only devices to your WiFi Network. First one I found was this:

yeah i know. although its PC users that require a crossover cable because not all PC's can automatically reverse the pins in a ethernet

Doesn't matter - only one device needs to be Auto MDI-X enabled to work
