Needed 1 of these for Kinect to work on my old shape xbox. Would'nt say they were cheap but compared to auction sites selling used supplies on for £35+ not to bad of a deal.

1st post so hope everything OK. Great site by the way!!!!!

What happened to the one that was supplied with your Kinect?

Yeh i thought it came bundled with power supply for old xbox systems

They do if you didnt get one youve been fobbed off.

yeah, mine has one too. he's been done!

There's obvs a reason they sell these. And if it's cheaper than everywere else then it's HOT from me

Just because its cheaper doesnt make it a hot deal.

What if most places ran out of stock, and £50 was then the cheapest around? Doesnt mean its hot, just the cheapest around, and not a good deal.

I wouldnt put it past the manufacturer, as a ploy to extort more money from the public for an already overpriced device...

He prob brought a slim 360 bundled with kinect. Which would explain the absence of the power supply.

If you get it with the slim console bundle it doesnt come with one, only comes with one when bought on its own.

but the slim supplies the power for it anyway :s

You need one if you have bought a kinect / 360S bundle (you dont get one included) but you want to take your kinect to another room to use on an old style 360.

Bought from CEX obviously and got robbed

Actually a good price compared to the RRP/2nd hand and there does not seem to be any 3rd party adaptors on the market yet.

As mentioned, it is only of use if you have a bundle Kinect (sold with an S) not a retail and you want to use it with an older 360 or some other device (PC etc. ;)). This is actually the mains plug with the normal USB fly lead attached.

I can actually see this becoming a bit of a 'geek' part as more people want to use there bundled Kinect's in interesting ways with media PC's etc. (I know I am finding using it with XBMC more interesting than the games at the moment :D).
