Great price!

Can confirm this one, Also paid £37.99 for Mass Effect 3 only to find Sainsbury's selling it for £27.99 instore. Obviously went back for a refund!!!

Just bought this at Asda for £29.99 - thought that was a good price - this is excellent for a high street shop.

It's 27.99 for 3 months in my local!

Let me get this straight. Microsoft make you pay to play online gaming?

Where have you been since 2005?!

Yes and people pay because it's still just about the best online gaming network in the world. Steam is fantastic but there is still a lot of messing around and not many people can afford or be bothered with a gaming PC these days and I like the PS3 and Vita but I have so many issues with 'sen' that I don't even know where to start.

That involves giving them your card details and they could remove the online auto renewal switch whenever they like.

I'd rather pay for something that works properly and where my friends play online, not something for free that's broken and full of 12 year olds....

Microsoft make you pay £2 odds a month to maintain a very good, reliable network. Well worth it in my book - go back under the bridge ...................

Where is this deal? How about linking or creating one if it doesn't exist yet instead of calling people muppets?

I've been living off the '£2 for 2 months' deal since November, and just purchased another 2 months yesterday. No need to purchase lengthy memberships anymore, £12 for a whole year is excellent value for money!

how do you get that £2 deal please?

This might be a stupid question... do these packs have a 'use-by' date?

My kid got 12 months access free with his XBox at Christmas (thanks to a deal posted here), so he still has 8 months left. If I snap up another 12 months at a good price now, do you reckon it'll still work when we come to use it in December?

You can add it to his account now. So once the 8 months are finished the new 12 month code will kick in.

Having both a PS3 and 360 I've found you get idiots on both systems

That's a lot of hassle to go through over a saving of 4 quid.

I think your PC/phone/tablet is playing up!

Ragtimeplayer

how do you get that £2 deal please?

Should appear on your dashboard shortly after expiration. For example, my latest £2 for 2 months expired yesterday. My Xbox informed me that Gold had expired and asked me if I wanted to renew. I said no, reverted to Silver and re-started the console. Lo and behold, when I restarted the offer was shown on the dashboard (home tab) and I followed the link. Simple!

Blimey, don't know what happened there! Have hopefully deleted the wayward copies..!

Sure is, and remember to go online to xbox account and turn off auto renewal. You may then get it as you are about to expire. It is mentioned in EVERY one of these threads but most ignore.

Yup, I make sure to do that every time. MS don't exactly make it easy though (predictably). You have to go through several links, and on the last one before confirming they list all the reasons why turning off auto-renewal is a bad idea! Then when you turn it off, they're like "you'll regret it, mark my words mortal!".

Hot and ordered

Thanks for the tip, now i see the error of my ways.
I switched-off auto renewal, but didn't realise you had to restart the machine.
Will give it a try next time and hopefully see the £2 for 2 months.

Errrrmmmmm............hold on a minute......Xbox Live is being mad free from 1st July 2012 anyway so why would anyone sign up for another 12 months???

"Microsoft today announced that for the remainder of the Xbox 360 life cycle access to the Xbox Live Network will come at no cost beginning this July 1st, A gold membership will still be required to access extra features like Facebook, YouTube and Crackle however gameplay will be free for all users bringing the networks offerings on par with the PSN price wise however with the cost now removed this puts the Xbox live network miles ahead of the competition."

No need to be rude. I checked my usual gaming sites before posting (Eurogamer, Joystiq etc) and couldn't see anything. Googling for gaming news at work it's wise........
