IMPORTANT: Upon purchase you will receive £10 of Xbox Live credit in addition to your 12 month Xbox Live Gold Membership. You will receive two £5 tokens and each must be redeemed before 31 July 2016 and you must spend the credit within 90 days.
This is smoking hot. Essentially £21.49 for 12 months live.
Could also buy 30 pound gift card as far as I'm aware and get free 5 pound credit, effectively making this £26.49. Or £30 depending on how you want to look at it.

you have until may next year to redeem the codes, but once you redeem it it will only stay on your account for 90 days.
I will never heat a deal stuck behind the prime paywall. I hate what amazon has become. Bit by bit they are becoming extremely anti consumer and the more successful they are they more others will follow.

I used to buy all my blu rays and games from them but i have now shifted to other stores because of this. In fact you cant even buy some games direct from amazon if you are not prime. Craziness.
does it comes as a redeem code by email? never bought one this way before
It wouldn't let me redeem by audible £10 promo credit on this purchase! Anyone else??

Create new account with new email, take out prime trial, cancel said trial, get stuff for cool prices for a month. No hassle.

so why not just pay for prime?

next day delivery alone makes it worthwhile for me plus as you say exclusive deals and there's also prime music and video.

Worth every penny

Consumers shouldn't have to pay a subscription to be able to purchase goods from Amazon, that's the problem. It's all well and good accessing exclusive deals but there are several items on their site that you cannot purchase direct from them unless you have prime. Ite shouldn't be that way

That's market forces for you. Amazon has pushed online shopping forward immeasurably. Prior to Amazon the thought of receiving a delivery at home (a) the next day, (b) within 2 years, (c) on a Saturday, or (d) at a reasonably price point, was inconceivable.

Of course, the real issue is that Prime give you benefits such as exclusive purchases. If you are a Prime member that's great but if not you don't receive the benefits. The one perk a non-Primer gets is to save £80 a year or whatever it happens to be at the time.

As a Prime member I save the membership fee in next day delivery at Christmas between 21st and 23rd December! I save the £6.67 per month through HUKD and Quidco.
So does this work like cdkeys, and you get a code in your inbox?
I noticed their "how this works" guide lists signing in with your xbox account from a link and I'm buying this a gift for someone.

I can understand the value of it if you are a regular shopper and therfore there is a net saving for you. But what about the customers that buy infrequently?

In any case, i am against the whole philosophy of the "pay wall". It simply seems wrong to have to pay a fee in order to buy something. Thats my main gripe.

hi there!

you'll receive code from Amazon for the subscription and the gift card. to redeem these codes, the "user" (in your case the giftee) has to sign into their Xbox Live account to redeem the codes.

hope that helps!

That makes more sense. Thanks. Amazon's explanation made it sound like I had to be logged into the Amazon account, whilst they logged in their xbox account through via Amazon which would have been fine but isn't exactly the best birthday party game. (_;)

Now ordered but pending Verification.

then you don't get the best deals. simples

that's the same everywhere. the more you buy the more you save effectively.

if amazon prime isn't worthwhile for you - and bearing in mind you get prime video and audio too - then you buy elsewhere.

amazon isn't a democracy. they don't have to be fair to everyone

Well technically the Xbox games and recovery aren't 'free' in the actual definition of the word, since money has to be spent to actually get them. They're bonuses.

I can understand en3sge's annoyance at a retailer switching to this model, but then again something like Costco has had this model for yonks.

Microsoft do not prevent you from buying certain games just because you are not gold.

As i said, my main gripe is items not being purchasable unless you have prime. Ok, i can go somewhere else to get it but once i do this i might like the service from that competitor and take my business permanently there. Which i am currently doing.
