ebay had better prices

Thats a better price than most "trust worthy" shops.

I'd rather use a reputable shop, online or in person, than ebay personally. I posted for those who prefer security to "the cheapest price" but of course each to their own!

Have already ordered and usually get within 24 hours from Zavvi. None of this pishing about :-D

Note:- Amazon.co.uk also have it for I think a few pence more, who I've also never had probs with

Myself, plenty of people on AVForums and more than a few here have all bought codes without a hint of trouble from Live Codes - currently selling 12 months for £27.99 with the code usually dropping into your inbox within a few minutes. It's a shame that Microsoft stopped the 12+1 cards as it used to be an even better deal!

The thread discussing Live Codes is over on AVF here:
avforums.com/for…tml

Mark Godley, the chap that runs it, often posts in that thread too so it's not a totally "faceless" web shop.

I'm with you Varnor. I'm sure there are trustworth sellers on ebay as i'm a seller on there too but i wouldn't risk having someone email me a code for £30.
Voted Hot!

Obviously there are two sides to acquiring these codes, if you just want a code and don't care about where it comes from before it appears in your inbox then by all means use ebay. If you prefer to have an actual scratchcard with the code then this is about as cheap as you can get them. They are two totally different methods so saying "ebay had better prices" isn't helping anyone.

Either way I don't believe that you can vote something cold because getting the code by email is cheaper. To me thats like voting every Blueray, DVD and CD thread cold because the film or album is cheaper to obtain by digital download.

There are 2 different ways to getting this but the end product is exactly the same - the 2 sellers I've used in the past have built up fantastic reputations and I only used them after hundreds of people (or in the case of Jasper, thousands). The code even arrives as a scan of the card - that's how identical the products are! The thread I link to on AVForums shows how trusted one of the sellers (Live Codes) is - he's part of that same community.

Sorry Blaiz - I don't agree with your argument there. Comparing a blu ray to a digital download isn't the same - the compression in place on a typical download, even an HD movie, is dramatically more severe than on a BR disc so you'd always pick the BR if you wanted the best quality, plus there's the convenience of popping the disc up on the shelf after you've watched it adding it to a collection, not having it tied into a particular DRM rental system. With the CD, you can buy a disc that you play in your CD player, show it on a shelf, rip it to MP3 yourself etc - it's more "tactile" than the MP3 version and if you collect CDs, go right ahead - that being said, I'd still order the CD at the best price I could get it. But this is a code to subscribe to an online gaming service - it doesn't have a collector's value and you're not going to cherish the code among a library of games on the shelf.

In this circumstance, you are buying like for like, you just don't have to scratch the card yourself. Essentially it comes down to this - the best deal for 12 months on Live is available from reputable sources online with instant delivery for a better price than it is available from a traditional "high street" name (without a high street presence in this case) and surely that's the idea behind HUKD?

Each to their own of course, but a better deal is a better deal

Out of interest wouldn't this site be full of ebay links if a "deal" was considered that way? I just checked and it makes me laugh that ebay sellers put "look how trustworthy I am!" lol

It's the best deal I've found on the high street, and online that you'd not have to use PayPal to buy from for fear of account hacking etc

Although I already knew of ebay and the few email code sites, personally I've not wanted to use them. Too many variables such as will the seller post it tomorrow? In a few days? Will the code work? If not, then what sort of thing

So I stand by my deal!

Good price for the high street but the last 26 months of my live have come from online seller who have emailed the code instantly for less. Best way to do it if you can find a reputable seller. Voted hot anyway as it's the best price I've seen in a normal store for ages.
