Xbox ONE consoles @ Sainsburys £449 NEW DELIVERIES

Found 5th Dec 2013
Hi all.
Just a heads up for anyone still in a hunt for a Xbox console for Xmas etc. Sainsburys sent out 1500 units to 350 stores for delivery today (my store received 3) so availability should of drastically increased today/tomorrow.
As far as I'm aware they are the FIFA bundles, which I think are £449, might be £439 can't recall sorry!

ALSO!!
The freeze period for holding uncollected pre-orders is tomorrow ( 2 weeks after release) so preorders go on general sale, so if your lucky you could even pick up a day one!

Hope this helps

Edit - can confirm it is FIFA bundle, download code for game not physical copy

is this the basic package...ie throne that should be £429.99 Why on earth have Sainsburys added on a £20 bonus for themselves....very poor...specially as they know people want these...im voting cold as its not a deal...its just stock being in...and thats not what we are voting on

I've found that stock isn't THAT hard to come by for the xbox one, I've been to my local Tesco's a few times and they've had plenty available.

Now the PS4, that's a different story..

I take it you missed this then:

I don't understand these prices any more. The Xbox One with FIFA and Forza at launch where £429 wasn't it? So why are the basic packs with no game £450? Voted hot due to stock. But it seems a lot of places have stock now.

With sainsburys also, if you buy the console you get £10 off a game if you buy one with it.

Maybe because it's instore.

Is your store Leeds by any chance? White Rose?

3 units per store ... that is a drastic increase in availability .... i'll easily stroll in just before they close tomorrow and select one of the remaining units , it'll be easy now they've flooded the stores with new deliveries

£429.99 is for the console on its own. For day one preorders, Fifa or Forza were free. Now they are classed as a bundle deal. So this is a deal.

Shopto.net delivered a PS4 to a co-worker today, neither console are that hard to get hold of unless you go to the obvious places.

cant find an xbox one anywhere in east lancashire or even lancashire in general. desperate for one as a pressie fir my lad but struggling.

Very poor!? The principles of supply and demand dictate price. People will be happy to pay, who are Sainsbury's to defy the laws of economics. Do you think that the supermarkets operate to generate good will or profit?

Tesco, Waitrose, Asda....al selling at RRP...Sainsburys make out they are the peoples supermarket....and their PS4's have been at RRP....yes I understand Economics...I am a trader for a living so thanks for the supply/demand lesson...even so as one of the big supermarkets I wouldn't expect this from Sainsburys

Rooney10, just helping people out. Probably wouldn't walk in at closing time if I wanted one ..

You've probably heard of special offers and bundles. It's quite common to offer a discounted price for a limited period of time or even an extra free item with a purchase. Once that period of time has passed, the offer expires and prices return to normal.
If the base item is £429 and this stock does come with a game, then yes it will cost more.

this doesn't state it comes with a game and if it does then its a DEAL...but if it doesn't...then it isn't plain and simple

Ill say that this originally didn't state t came with a game....happy to eat my words and recall all my comments if it comes with Fifa 14

Had some in Tesco Bolton Middlebrook this afternoon.

Got one tonight, it comes with a game but it's a download, not a physical game.

I have a reservation for Nottingham Argos if anyone wants it?

Hot as this may help a kid get an Xbox one for Christmas. I don't understand why some of the comments on the first page are so sarcastic or negative.

I got a flame deer while viewing this

Voted hot - although my local John Lewis has them in stock for 429 I believe

I have a reservation code for Argos.. Silverlink, Newcastle.
It's the Xbox One Fifa 14 bundle for £449

If anyone needs one?

don't spose anyones got a reservation for manchester by any chance!?

I've seen some of the bigger players marking these up over the usual £429.99 for console only (I won't say RRP, since they don't exist these days). Sharp practice, in my opinion... leave that to smaller independents and eBay wheeler dealers out for a quick profit. It's pretty exploitative and a tad unethical for a big brand to do this... they have brand reputations backed by multi-million £ advertising campaigns trying to make us believe they're to be trusted and out to get the best deal for their customers. First rule of business, live by your brand image.

Yes I couldn't agree more. The old law of supply and demand is less relevant to the big players like superkarkets where brand image is a far high revenue driver than a few pounds added to the cost of a high ticket item like an Xbox One. The evidence is already here in this thread with people showing a dislike for this kind of behaviour. So what Sainsbury gain on a few concoles sould easily be negated though worse public perception (and therefore less public spend as they take their business elsewhere).

The Day One Edition was a limited launch edition, this had either FIFA or Forza free with it depending on which pack you got which was £429 but limited in number.

Once these had all gone then the standard console is £429 without a game. This deal is for the Console + FIFA bundle. Hence why it is not £429 but £449. So you are paying £20 for FIFA which is a good price.

How is this a bargain? This is a deals website, not a stock checker.

Exactly, Sainsburys aint marked up anything... same version on amazon etc etc for £449 - the Fifa Special Edition... whats special you ask? you get to pay more for the same thing that came out a couple of weeks ago with a greener box.

I have no idea how this is meant to be a good price.

If you can find stock which is cheaper, post the deal I'll vote it hot

Agreed.
If a retailer wants to sell something for more than the going rate, in the knowledge that people will pay it (whether for the convenience, or through lack of knowledge) then so be it.
The corner shop down the road from me does it on pretty much everything it sells. (They don't sell xbox Ones, btw. If they did I'm sure they'd be about £500.)
I'm sure Sainsburys will shift all of their stock, despite the extra mark up.

[insert witty line about using a time machine if you want a "day one" One for £429]

I haven't voted either way. I'm not sure what prices people are charging now, nor what availability is like. Haven't been keeping an eye on it. I've been too busy playing on my "day one" One
