Regardless how many controller threads there are there is still confused info around

The newer models have two distinct radios inside them: Xbox Wireless and Bluetoorh

Xbox Wireless works with Xbox console and the USB dongle for PC (its not a BT dongle)
Bluetooth works with PCs phones and Apple TV

Xbox wireless can be more reliable than BT and supports the headset

Another controller thread suggests this is more a windows compatible Xbox one controller meant for windows (PC) and really not a normal Xbox one controller at all in usage but more in design?.In fact the item detail on ebay doesn't even or directly state its Xbox one console compatible at all as the the compatibility refers to windows with the Xbox one support being for the headset & charging only. So has anyone bought this and used it with the Xbox one console?.

There is no such thing as an Xbox controller that does not work on Xbox. I am not sure where you are all getting this idea from.

EVERY Xbox controller works on Xbox, just some come with bluetooth and/or dongle to allow PC usage also.

There is no need for the description to say it works on Xbox, because it is an Xbox controller OF COURSE it works on Xbox. It is in the name!

Will this connect to an amazon fire TV without the need of a USB dongle? I already have a wireless one but it needs the USB receiver plugged into the fire tv box...I need that for storage.

Is this Bluetooth or does it require a dongle?
Fergout10/12/2019 12:48

Lol

Not sure why that’s funny?

There’s two types of Xbox One controller. One requires a dongle to be able to work wirelessly with a PC and the newer controller connects via Bluetooth (which most modern PCs have built in).

In your comments you’ve said it’s both the old and the newer controllers.

Yes it's the bluetooth one, I ordered and collected last week from them. The model number is 1708, there's an all white and all black model.

Doesn't seem like the controller with the dongle deal is available anymore.
Hi. Just wondering if you use it via cable, do you still need batteries?
If you get it to 30 and orchard with PayPal credit you might be entitled to 10 off

I've read differing experiences, if it turns out to be duff, I'll return it to Amazon, or use a usb cable
OOS
I ordered the version with the wireless dongle from amazon for £32 you can sell the dongle to cex bringing the controller cost down to £26 if you dont need it
Would have had this if it had the option got delivery. Not worth the trek out for one though.
Great! Now I just need the console ( Xbox one X )

Well I've owned 5+ Xbox 1 controllers for PC and 2 Scuf versions. I game quite a bit lol. BT connection is very easy and works on Windows 10. Anyone proficient in Windows can achieve. Granted it doesn't work 100% for every game, as some games cannot see the controller as connected when done via BT. But EVERY genuine Microsoft Xbox 1 controller can be connected to Windows 7, 8 and 10 via Micro USB cable and work. It will be auto recognised by Win 8 and 10 and requires drivers to work in Win 7. Only Xbox 360 controllers are auto recognised without drivers in Win 7. Remember, batteries are required for BT connection and not required for Micro USB connection.
There's a working XBox One digital edition in my local cash converters for £50 quid and the one thing it doesn't have is a controller .. hhhmmm
