I know these were £199 a couple of months back and that seems to have depleted most supplier stocks greatly. For anyone who wants one of these consoles still, (and does not want to risk eBay purchases of which there are plenty and for not much of a saving) Game have some in stock now at £299.

Question - for someone like myself who wants an Xbox and an Elite controller but does not want a white S - should I buy this or wait for E3/ further Microsoft announcements to see what the future of Xbox holds?

If you're not in a rush, wait for E3 and see when Scorpio is expected.

I'm interested in the Scorpio, but concerned about the price.

I think you are right. The price of the white S bundles now are remarkable - are they pushing them as hard as they can before E3 and news of the next gen'. It would make sense to shift as many 'S' units before that time/ before they are considered the 'old' Xbox.

What is the latest with regard to the Scorpio's price?

All just rumours of course at present, but it's said to be around £600. Apparently 'market analysts' have advised them not to price it above £400 however.

There is a lot of confusion for the standard consumer out their at the moment with regards to Scorpio versus Xbox One S. Being a very big Xbox fan and keeping a close eye on all of the news I think Microsoft would be crazy to launch at anything above $399. Notice how I put it in Dollars, our friend Trump is going to cause some issues in the UK with pricing. Phil Spencer (head of Xbox) has himself come out and said that Scorpio isn't for the general consumer, Microsoft know that the best selling box with be the S. That said they know they can't come out with an outrageous price like they did with the One. I wouldn't be shocked to see the S get a price drop at E3 and the base model of Scorpio come in at $399 for November release. How that translates in the UK is anyone's guess but the most likely scenario as far as I see it is £399 which will likely be a minimum spec of 1TB but I'd personally like to see 2TB being the standard model - game install size is only going to increase from this point on! Given that both console will coexits for a number of years with games working on both, its all about preference - there will be a difference between the S and Scorpio, but you wont get the full benefit without a 4K HDR ready TV regardless of what they say, frame rates might improve, but Scorpio is built for 4K gaming!
