Popped into Tesco Hayes to check if they had anything interesting.
They had the Xbox One Elite Controller marked down to £79, there were three 'take me to Customer Services' cases on the shelf so there were a few in stock.
It's not as cheap as the £23 deal, but this is the best price for something brand new and in-stock...

Don’t bother, they inevitably break. Poor design.

Most things inevitably break... It's inevitable, Mr Unreality.
I must be so out of touch these days! I have a PS4 and an old Xbox 360, so not exactly at the forefront of gaming, but when in the hell did control pads get so expensive to the point when a control pad is seen as a bargain deal at £79??

If I had to guess, I would’ve said this would’ve been £50 tops....at full price!!

What’s so special about it that it commands such a high price?

mk1 or mk2?

i really need one of these for the new doom
£29 -£39 in other Tescos?
Ive been to 2 tescos in the Surrey region, both have them for £79, couldn't find them for any less, but I can confirm this pricing is accurate.

I think it depends on which Tesco you go to... They don't seem to be consistent. One of the ones I went apparently are getting a new batch this week... Of the old controller... Not the series 2, which is weird.

I'm assuming they forgot to add another 0 to the pricing gun. Seems pretty coincidental that 1 more 0 would have made it £79 which is what the price is.

The controllers are fantastic, but there are issues around build quality too. I've had two break on me (one lasted almost exactly 12 months, another around 18), but my third is going strong still. For this price it's worth the risk, but I wouldn't pay full price for one without getting an extended warranty.

Has the whole world gone mad? At what point did it become acceptable to charge this much for a controller for a gaming console?? Normal price is 100!!! The last console I bought was the Xbox 360, and the controllers were less than half this price back then. I have bought two used Nintendo Switches recently and I've just seen the price of the joy cons for those new. Blows my mind what people will pay these days.

I didn't bother scrolling down before I wrote my comment, and ended up directly below yours. I think we are both getting old friend. Absolute scandalous price.

You can pretty much say the same about anything. There's cheap products, slightly less cheap, affordable, slightly less affordable, and scandalous. I wouldn't get worked up about it.
Had mine for a year, it's showing no signs of wear.

I have to agree with you too. I still remember going to southend to look at mega drive 2 games.
On the topic of this controller, I was lucky to get xbox 1S for £45. This controller is double the console for me!

A normal XBO/PS4 pad goes for £40-£50 - Switch Pro pad/Joy Cons go for £55-£60.

The Elite has rave reviews - MS has summarised the features here:

Cast your mind back to 1994 when the Megadrive Sega Virtua Racing cart came out, £70..... SEVENTY QUID... You could have bought a house for that in London back then.

Haha wow I wasn't old enough to remember those prices! Used to go to 2nd hand places as I was still a nipper. Good old days of cartridges
Are these 2nd or 1st edition?
Where is it £99?
Anyone had any joy finding these in the west mids?
