Hey guys
Just been checking Argos this morning and they have a deal if you buy the Elite Controller you can get Halo 5 Guardians for free.
The offer is available from the Elite controller page, add both to trolley to complete.
Offer ends 31st May 2016
(I know Gamestop has it for £109 but for the extra £10 to get it the same day and with halo 5)

DO IT!
Whats the difference?
I got an XB1 pad with the Rift. Feels just the same in use to the PC 360 pad I was already using. So whats different about the Elite version? (I assume the one bundled with the Rift is a standard one ...)
* EDIT *
Never mind. Looked it up. Mega-customisation primarily. Doesn't really interest me then .....
I don't really use any of the customized pieces, just the ones that are relatively standard. The controller just feels a lot more responsive and much better build quality. It isn't for everybody, that's for sure
It feels a better build quality, I say feel as the grips have started to come apart which is annoying.
Today as it happens, go get one
I really, really want one of the those controllers...Just a bit too pricey for me
What's the material/texture like of the actual controller? I use a silicone grip thing on my Xbone controller as I get sweaty hands and I don't like the feel of the plastic (yes I'm a bit odd, but used to it now from years of using a 360 pad).
Yep.
I have a steering wheel for driving games. A flight stick for flying games. And I've switched to the Vive now so have proper VR type controls for VR games. (The pad was way too limiting on the Rift) FPS and suchlike has only ever been any good using a mouse IMHO.
Which leaves a gamepad as little more than an afterthought on the PC so no need for this in my case. I doubt it will make much difference on games like The Stick of Truth! X)
Like a matte rubbery kind of texture. It is obviously solid but it feels quite soft on the surface, it's quite hard to explain to be honest.
Thanks! I may wait till it goes sub £100 then maybe will pick one up.
it doesn't seem so ridiculous now!
She was ok with that.
Good deal if you want the Elite controller though.
Well you would obviously purchase a Steam controller if you were looking for a PC controller no ?
Simply put because IF you can make it work for you like a lot of people can then you have quite an advantage in games as using the paddles you don't have to take your hand off the sticks so you can for instance always be targeting an enemy while reloading in an FPS instead of just strafing at him.
Obviously if you have issues with it (like anything else) then you are not going to like it.
Kind of like yourself I had issues with the paddles (although only the lower ones) with pressing them by mistake so I've removed them, Makes no difference for me though as I only wanted to use 2 of them anyway, It also took me a little while not to press the relevant paddle when I pressed the triggers as for whatever reason the wiring in my brain was making me press the paddle when I did the triggers.
