Hey guys

Just been checking Argos this morning and they have a deal if you buy the Elite Controller you can get Halo 5 Guardians for free.

The offer is available from the Elite controller page, add both to trolley to complete.

Offer ends 31st May 2016

(I know Gamestop has it for £109 but for the extra £10 to get it the same day and with halo 5)

I picked up on this from another deal that basically linked to a Free Halo 5 with any wireless controller. I know it's a lot for a controller but I would never go back to a standard controller now.

Well worth it. If you are pondering over whether to buy or not I'll make it easy for you....

DO IT!

Just wait until the elite controller haters see this deal, heat added elfen

Genuinely curious .....

Whats the difference?

I got an XB1 pad with the Rift. Feels just the same in use to the PC 360 pad I was already using. So whats different about the Elite version? (I assume the one bundled with the Rift is a standard one ...)

* EDIT *

Never mind. Looked it up. Mega-customisation primarily. Doesn't really interest me then .....

I don't really use any of the customized pieces, just the ones that are relatively standard. The controller just feels a lot more responsive and much better build quality. It isn't for everybody, that's for sure

Hmmm very tempting indeed, i'm in the market for a new controller too...

I don't think I could go back to using a standard controller after using an elite it just feels so much better but for me it's that i use a paddle on the back.
It feels a better build quality, I say feel as the grips have started to come apart which is annoying.

realy want one , when is my birthday again

The paddles are awesome, the build quality is great, and the rubberised grips are fantastic for when you're in a sweaty match, haha. Use my paddles for scoping in with snipers and grenades on the division. The button mapping is great... all a true story, no details have been changed to protect the innocent. Buy one.

Today as it happens, go get one

I really, really want one of the those controllers...Just a bit too pricey for me

What's the material/texture like of the actual controller? I use a silicone grip thing on my Xbone controller as I get sweaty hands and I don't like the feel of the plastic (yes I'm a bit odd, but used to it now from years of using a 360 pad).

Yep.

I have a steering wheel for driving games. A flight stick for flying games. And I've switched to the Vive now so have proper VR type controls for VR games. (The pad was way too limiting on the Rift) FPS and suchlike has only ever been any good using a mouse IMHO.

Which leaves a gamepad as little more than an afterthought on the PC so no need for this in my case. I doubt it will make much difference on games like The Stick of Truth! X)

Like a matte rubbery kind of texture. It is obviously solid but it feels quite soft on the surface, it's quite hard to explain to be honest.

Thanks! I may wait till it goes sub £100 then maybe will pick one up.

I caved, ordered and already collected

look at it this way people, it costs just a bit more than 2 normal controllers if you consider Halo to be worth £20...

it doesn't seem so ridiculous now!

I cant justify £120 on a controller, the wife would kill me, so I wnet for the Dusk Shadow controller and Halo 5 for £50.

She was ok with that.

Good deal if you want the Elite controller though.

If you rage quit and throw the controller at the tv this one will certainly make a decent dent. It is a lot heavier and does feel more premium. I haven't used the paddles in anger but do use the trigger stops and software for instant fire action

You need to step up Bro, tell your wife your getting a controller and same time tell her your taking her out, win win... well the banks happy

ROFL £120 for a controller that cost a few £ in China to make and a game.

Well you would obviously purchase a Steam controller if you were looking for a PC controller no ?

I cannot understand the hype for this controller. I've used it for 3 weeks. Found the paddles to be more annoying than useful as I end up pressing them unintentionally. Yes the build quality is better than a standard controller, but it costs 2-3 times as much. A complete rip off in my opinion.

You may find most electronics are made in china on the cheap and sold for high prices, and i bet you have some too

Jesus over £100 for a controller, the way the price is dropping if u wait a couple of months u will pick up the console for this price lol

+ £10 voucher now as promotion back on. Add to deal OP.

I was going to buy the Lunar White one the other day but caved and bought one of these instead. Whoops!

Simply put because IF you can make it work for you like a lot of people can then you have quite an advantage in games as using the paddles you don't have to take your hand off the sticks so you can for instance always be targeting an enemy while reloading in an FPS instead of just strafing at him.
Obviously if you have issues with it (like anything else) then you are not going to like it.

Kind of like yourself I had issues with the paddles (although only the lower ones) with pressing them by mistake so I've removed them, Makes no difference for me though as I only wanted to use 2 of them anyway, It also took me a little while not to press the relevant paddle when I pressed the triggers as for whatever reason the wiring in my brain was making me press the paddle when I did the triggers.
