You'll need to pay £2-odd P&P if ordering online but there seems to be loads of stock in stores

Good to see it dropping in price again. Still regret not getting it £20.

Glad I sold mine a few months ago for £60.

is there any point to kinnects

I think the general consensus is No when the rrp is £120+. But at this price it might be cheap enough to justify having one. Certainly is for me anyway.

only if you got a big enough room to use the games with it, otherwise not really.

Since they've pretty much dropped the support of it for cheaper bundles don't think it'll be as good proposed

Great for Skype though, and for £35 it's a steal. Hot.

Cheers OP. Been waiting for them to drop a little more. Takes care of my £30 of credit.

is worth getting just for the extras you can do with Skype, voice commands, video messaging etc. but the gaming side is massively lacking!

It's good for shouting at

£20 is worth it just for the voice control imo

i was lucky to get Xbox one with kinnect brand new for £260. Kinnect is more useful than you say. Quick login, easier purchase. It confirms that you is you before it allows you to make payment etc. plus many more. Plus there is a nice game called Shape Up. It's not easy. Plus many more.

Great piece of kit. Very under rated in my opinion. Good for recording game clips, switching between apps, chatting with friends etc. Also good for some in game commands. Very good deal at this price. Thanks

Its second hand price shows exactly how integral kinnect is to the xbox one. Exactly like Microsoft said when they were trying to defend its initial mandatory inclusion...

I agree.. Very underrated. Love mine. I IS underused in games, something I hope they correct going forward. But the experience WITH Kinect, is far better than without.
Those who've not had one won't know what they are missing.

Finally bought one... Can't believe MS want ~£120 for this.

Kinect 2.0 is far from useless. Would I purchase it for £120 - not a hope in hell. Do you really need it to be able to use the X1 - no. Does it help enhance the X1's functionality - yes.

I purchased the Titanfall/AC Black Flag kinect bundle from Amazon last year when it was going for £299 (or theres about) for a few days and I like kinect. If i only bought a kinectless bundle I can't say I would be lost without it. However, once you get used to it, it's a bit more of a chore using the X1 without one now.

Anyone seen a cheap adapter for windows? I fancy playing with the SDK.

Great until you see the price of the adapters

Never had a Kinect, but I remember using one with Forza in Game and was astounded at the head tracking when going into bends, it is worth it just for that IMO!!

I think Project CARS has the same head tracking as well so I might get it for that.

Have a kinect for XBox 360 but never use it, so when bought X1, thought, 'what's the point'?!

Need to tell my uni teacher to get some for programming as the pc cable has been out for a few months now.

Been that price for a while

how the mighty have fallen...

Does it have that annoying glowing light just like the controller. Wish you could turn it off.

All valid points & each to their own. Value for money changes user to user as some will use for various functionality. For £35 this is great for me, voice & recording control along with Skype which we use a lot for relatives abroad. Kids will love this also for a variety of games. Many thanks for posting this :-)

What's a kinect? =/

Very tempting but I think it would have to go sub £30 before I buy, with the delivery it's going to be the best part of £40 though still great deal for some and heated.

What did interest me most was the mention of head tracking in forza, is this just forza 5 or horizon 2 as well?

Its a camera/microphone for an xbox one, mainly used for skype, dance games, voice control, motion control, fitness games, you can also turn your tv/sound system on when the xbox turns on, or if you have sky plugged in the xbox or one of these xbox.com/en-…ner you change the tv channel with your voice "xbox watch bbc1".

Is this useful for PCs? What can you do with it on PC, Skype, face recognition to log into Windows?

So great that Microsoft took it out to get sales of the 'Bone going.. stone cold, imho.

Ordered thank you!

The bubble has burst after the wave started by Nintendo with the Wii for motion control, the gimmick well and truly is over. Within a few days of owning a Wii I had already felt cheated that I could wave my arm like some lunatic and still beat near enough any opponent on Wii Tennis.

The only merits for the kinect are for fitness and dance titles as far as 'gaming' goes. Microsoft have seen bundling the kinect 2 with the Xbox One increased costs and damaged sales, by not bundling it will simply put off developers creating for it.

Sony meanwhile must have to admit the move controller was a failure, whilst the PS4 Camera only has any gaming worth with unsurprisingly a dance title.

In the Nintendo camp other than backward compatibility with existing titles, Nintendo are preferring regular and touch screen controls.

In ten years time we will all be looking back at gaming laughing at the fad that was motion gesturing, unless developers into the next fad of VR do not learn any lessons.

I still feel such as the music rhythm gaming titles that are reliant on peripherals, and to a degree racing games are much better with steering wheel peripherals there is a market for motion peripherals. But software developers should stick to what they are best at, and that clearly is 'games' of a physical nature, be it dance or fitness.

Other than that a camera is only useful for social video media and voice controlling, for gaming it is redundant.
