I've been thinking - is it, isn't it? But yes, I do think this is a great deal. I've only ever seen it £1.35 cheaper from a UK retailer, and let's be honest, it's a really nice controller for the cash.

£40 using code TDX-KH7H

Also the Patrol Tech is £40 apparently (cheers @nihir ) [Link]

Immerse yourself in the action with the Xbox One Recon Tech Special Edition wireless controller, featuring a dark grey military streamlined design with a soft-touch feel. Plug in your headset and block out the outside world using the 3.5mm audio jack. Built with new impulse triggers to deliver fingertip vibration feedback, this wireless Xbox controller lets you enjoy a real-to-life experience as you feel every jolt and crash in high definition. Greater precision is also achieved with the controller's redesigned thumb sticks and an all-new D-pad which is responsive to sweeping and directional movements. The Menu and View buttons allow for easy navigation to help you get the most out of your gaming experience.

The Recon Tech controller has a wireless range of up to 18 feet, twice that of previous controllers, making it suitable for use in any sized room. Designed to fit more comfortably in your hands, the grips and contours are suitable for a wider range of hand sizes, so you can finally enjoy the Xbox One experience as intended. The batteries also fit inside the controller body, allowing you to play without obstacles.

The Xbox One wireless controller is compatible with the Xbox Play and Charge Kit, the Chat Headset and the Stereo Headset. It also features Bluetooth connection for streaming on Windows 10 devices.

It's my 2nd favourite, after using an Elite controller I just can't go back.
Yeh great controller I got mine a few months ago from Argos for £49.99 and it’s good I had an elite controller and the left bumper snapped off 3 times so i got one of these instead

Mines been okay with minimal use. You get a year warranty here though so just buy it from a decent retailer. Most highlighted issues happen well within a year. The issue is USA getting 3 months warranty

For me it is the textured grips that make these two stand out over all the others. Playing a game like Titanfall and getting sweaty hands makes you wish for one of these!

Ours was going strong and I was poo-pooing all the people saying that they were crap, then ours broke. It wasnt even in heavy use, it just popped off, its a STUPID and well documented fault and MS should be ashamed. I took it back and swapped it for one of these and they are just so much better. The Elite could and SHOULD have been great, but MS cheaped out, I would honestly advise you to avoid them like the plague

Buy a used one from CEX complete with 2 year warranty

I've had it since Oct (birthday present) it cost me £15 as I bought a pile of DS games at a car boot sale which was worth £90 when traded in.

It's been dropped onto a lino floor numerous times when dogs have knocked it off sofa, the kids have even used it too and it's still mint no problems at all.

I heard the same things but not had a single problem myself so far, mind you my controller from 2013 from my original Xbox one is still working flawlessly too so maybe I just look after my stuff better & don't strop when a games goes wrong lol.

Really notice it going back to a "standard" controller, especially as I find the convex thumbsticks far kinder to my hands than the standard concave ones.

Good idea with the CeX 24 month gurantee!! Never normally buy controllers second hand but for this purpose its a good shout.
Ordered it from Microsoft Italy when they had them for 39.99 euros via nokeys. Came to around £28.50~. Mine arrived faulty, just received the replacement from Microsoft. Pretty good controller
