As good as the price is for a One S, with the One X just being £100-110 more, it's definitly worth it.

Genuinely interested to know why. Keep wondering whether to get one, I have a PS4, but didn't want to spend too much before the new consoles come out next Xmas.
Thanks

Games look much better on it. Even on a 1080p/Full HD screen.

Xbox UI works quicker/better/less "laggy" feeling.

Will also hold its value better for selling at a later date.

I have a Ps4 Pro and the One X really smashes it out of the park.

I only use my Ps4 Pro now for exclusives.

The One X is more worthwhile if you have a 4K TV, but yes 1080p will still look smoother/better.

Depending on how often you game and your disposable income, you could save the £100 and get something else. More games, a new fridge, or save it to put towards the next Xbox console.

At £100 more, I would say it's worthwhile even for 1080p.

But not when it was £200+ more.

I don't disagree, but I guess it depends how much free time and disposable income one has. I usually always pay the extra for the better version of whatever I'm looking to buy (from sandwiches to cars lol), but I don't get much game time these days so I'd rather have the £100 towards other things. I'm saying this knowing I might get the new Xbox next year though. If I wasn't looking to get that than yeah, 100% I'd recommend getting the X. Especially if you're buying it to last a while, for sure.

PS4
PS3
PS Classic
Xbox One S
Xbox One SAD (still awaiting delivery from idiot couriers who delivered to the wrong address)
Xbox 360
Gaming PC
Raspberry Pi (currently unused)
Nintendo Switch (sold it. I miss it sometimes, but I don't regret it)

It's funny because I hardly play my games, I get minimal time to myself, yet I still love looking at new releases, and picking up a bargain etc

You said you needed help. I don't know if I have, but just know that you are not alone.
Just bought one for £146 with currys price match and 8% off via employer perks
Why buy either ps4 or xbox this close to next gen?

... to play PS4 or Xbox games

And next gen will probably be a tiny bit more than £160

You know they're still releasing games on this gen right? You can still play new release games.

Anyway it depends what games you play. I don't play multiplayer so quiet servers wouldn't affect me. It's good to be current if you enjoy talking about recent games with people, but if you care more about playing good games than recent games then the age doesn't matter. Who cares if it came out in 2017 or whatever. I also don't have much time to game, so I take a while getting round to anything.

A good game is a good game... same applies to books, films, and TV shows.
