Well tbh it's not really saving anyone any money. Just showing where stock is. Everyone talking bout this being a cheap 4k player but this is the standard price for this 4k player.

The Xbox doesn't replace a standalone 4K player for most people as the Xbox cant bitstream uncompressed audio so no HD sound support

Existing Xbox one does not bitstream uncompressed audio, it's a well known fact amongst the 'home cinema' crowd. Details and a few thousand requests here xbox.uservoice.com/for…ort

The Xbox One is fully capable of outputting the original PCM audio stream of any BluRay.
This link will give you an idea of the difference: whathifi.com/for…dio
Basically, The X1 doesn't have an option to output one of the licensed formats, as it can do better.

Totally incorrect with an out of date 7 year old forum post as evidence?

The Xbox one cannot bit stream an uncompressed audio stream, and you think the Xbox can process licensed formats better than a dedicated AV processor? yea right X)

So go one then tell me how I can get Dolby Atmos or DTS:X out of my Xbox one?

Did you even read my post?
I'm not going to argue with you. Any one who is interested in this, please look it up yourself, rather than take this guys word for it. I recommend looking at actual AV forums, where the people who are posting know a thing or two about high quality audio.

white is such an awful colour and black would have been a no brainer. the price is too high also for the 2tb version with no game and should at most be £250.00 to make it a good price and tempt people to get one. also will the internal power supply not overheat as xbox renowned for doing so even though u am xbox through and through and far better then playstation. xbox live is fantastic and the achievements idea and Sony don't come close.

I did read your post, you linked to a 7 year old discussion about sound formats contained within DVD's

Did you read my link where 3700 people have formally asked Microsoft to add the ability to bitstream uncompressed audio from Blu rays that even a £50 player is capable of doing?

I also repeat, if you use the Xbox to PCM the sound then your stuck with just 7.1 channels therefore no Atmos or DTS:X support, maybe not a deal breaker for some but can you not understand how the Xbox S cannot replace a UHD Blu ray standalone player for some people and consumers need to be aware of this before purchase?
