Stop the all digital rubbish. We want a decent deal for a normal Xbox that can play older games and you can actually own the games in physical form.

Pretty poor offer next to the Germany Microsoft offer at £84 delivered... I bought one to use with gamepass, great deal for the money, especially after selling the codes and the controller (already had one for my pc) cost me close to £15

I get what you’re saying. I get that someone people prefer to pick up a game, play it and trade it in, and as someone in their 40s I also get the whole sentimental / nostalgia factor that some people can attach to physical gaming products. Unfortunately however, at some point in the not too distant future physical media will be a thing of the past, or people will have to get with the times to some extent.

Only if enough people fall for the all digital thing. There is a market for physical games. Also you can't play bluerays or DVDs. All digital systems suck IMHO.

Unfortunately it's inevitable. The future will have no media. Everything will be online streaming.

It also used as a Blu-ray player for me as well so if I swapped to to this I would have to buy a separate player or get them all digitally which would cost loads because they are mostly second hand anyway. Or just stream everything but sometimes those services don’t have the film you that you wanna see from your collection.

I agree with the all of the above comments , however ask yourself when was the last time you purchased a CD or Blu Ray ? Physical media will most certainly be a thing of the past in the years to come.

The above deal represents a cheap , brand new , Xbox one console which might help someone before Christmas.

Maybe but why help that happen even quicker by buying one of these?

Absolutely, owning a blu-ray player already (albeit rarely used) and not having a back catalogue of Xbox discs these digital versions are the way forward for me. Getting gamepass ultimate for a couple of years makes it a great solution. As a PC gamer I haven't bought or used a physical disc in years, I was surprised to find my PCs DVD drive still worked the other day as I thought I'd disconnected it!

Some people might prefer everything on hard drive and not bother with physical media. I personally think they should bring prices down on physical media before it's to late.
Why are many so defeatist about things? "I do not particularly like something but it's going to happen anyway" is not a way to get in to a situation you do like. If all defeatists decide to vote with their wallets and exclusively buy physical the market is established and maintained tgus physical remains.

I heard similar things about advertisement, loot boxes, dlc, episodical content, day one dlc, store specific bonus items and online only releases and all of those are slowly on their retreat.

Who's we? Lots of people don't want the inconvenience of discs these days; storing them, changing them, moving them from place to place or scratching them.

I worked extensively within the music industry for many years, largely in the distribution of physical media including vinyl. Napster, Wippet, eMule and things like that came along and everyone took the view “oh we’ll be fine, people like walking into record shops and browsing through rows of physical products”. Maybe that’s true, however I personally saw what was coming and jumped ship as I didn’t want to find myself out of work and not sure what to do next, but within 12 months hundreds if not thousands of others across the globe including my friends and colleagues were laid off and pretty much every music distro out there across the land went into administration. Ok, people can still walk into HMV and buy vinyl and CDs but the landscape is totally different to how it once was. Downloads changed everything, and that was long before the onset of streaming. Gaming is only going the same direction, it’s not a case of if but when.

I made a similar comment in the past but as I understand you bring your library of games with you once logged in (I stand to be corrected). That apart my preference is the previous version as there are just so many cheap games out there and you can play your vids as well.

As for the comments about digital downloads well it may be the way to go but it hasnt happened yet and will take another few years to take off. Bit like those self checkouts. Hate them and am delighted to hear that stores lose something like £40M a year with these inane objects.

Completely agree, I've not bought a physical disc for a long time, it stemmed from my young kids leaving games out and scratching the discs. Also it meant I could buy one copy of a game which can be played on 2 computers at the same time using the primary console feature. It does annoy me though when I see game for sale on disc new for £10 but they are still £50 on the store

Its gonna help no-one because by the time Microsoft discount the games to a fare price no-one`s playing them anymore, argos asda Tesco etc etc are all cheaper on day of release or week later compared to the microsoft store which makes this deal freeezing

Hmm for some of us itsok i just got this deal for £67 on Black Friday and I am more than happy with it.
You cant stop the future dude Msfot dont want you selling the games they want profit profit profit...
Besides having to have the disc in to play the game sounds a bit of a pain to me!
And the blu ray player when it goes poof takes the box out and as its coded to the firmware ye canny just slap in another blu ray unlike an hdu!

So there are benefits on one hand but on the other i think msfot have engineered the digital box to come out on top!

Well let's all lie down and let the computer chips be inserted right into our heads then. If some want to roll over and say it'll happen anyway seriously? No one got any backbones anymore? If you're happy with it then great but many aren't hence all the low prices.

Well i only bought it to play SWBFII and WOT last time i played on a console was my Atari 2600.

I am only a casual gamer i prefer to spend time sailing or fishing, cycling , car mechanics, electronics than stting all day playing games but that seems to be what kids want to do know instead of being out climbing trees, fighting and playing kick the can and getting exercise like us auld fairtes used to do - I know i know - so old fashioned the exercise and fresh air thing!

Sad state of affairs really.

I got £25 for the fortnite code, £12.49 for sea of thieves, £9.99 minecraft.... Check ebay for completed listings to see the prices that codes have sold for.

I was initially disappointed that I had ordered the Fortnite pack instead of the Forza 4 pack.... Until I checked the prices on ebay..

Yeah I checked, I just wasn't sure which Fortnite code came with the bundle - £25 is double what I expected. Looks a good deal after using a work gift card discount and selling the codes. Thanks!

I got £35 for Fortnite, I put it on starting bid £20 and BIN £35. The buyer claimed he was 'hacked' and didn't purchase it but ebay said I didn't have to refund because I'd already sent the code. I'd advise you to only post the card with the code and not message the code, and make that clear in the description. I feel I was lucky to have things fall in my favour.
