Pc has been almost completely a digital market for over 10 plus years now and that is now in stone, and no one bats a eyelids, MS bring out a option for consumers to make a choice at the consumer level with a digital xbox one while still offering a full fat options, and n the sky is falling, cats and dogs living together, mass hysteria............i just don't get it. Lol

For the extra £30 that the standard X1XS costs you get an excellent UHD Blu-ray drive and the ability to use discs to get installs for backwards compatibility games.

Don't entertain the idea, this will end up causing consoles to cost way more over the years. The want everyone to end up paying top dollar for digital games. No more play and cex.

I am guessing most people play a game through and then sell it on, unless they have 2 or more consoles.

The future is all digital whether we like it or not. It won't be next gen, maybe not the one after but eventually we won't have discs for games, and probably not for other media too.

With the attention being drawn to subscriptions and streaming which isn't exactly a bad thing.
This console will dive. Some folk like to buy something physical. Some people collect

I can’t see much call fir downloading only. Nice idea but no cigar

Just my opinion.

Me to, they are just testing the water with this.
No way do I want an all digital console. Crap idea.

...and once streaming is silky smooth there will be no actual hardware either.

Yes indeed a quiet under the radar release and then if it flops no collateral damage to speak of. By buying this you are quickening the death of the optical drive and physical media.

Disagree with your last point. Physical all the way for me.

It certainly has its downsides. And as there will be less competition prices will most likely be higher with not so good sales.
But when it comes to anything not Nintendo, I always tend to go digital. I get why people want to buy physical but in 10 years time I'm sure we will be all digital in gaming.

Well no powerful hardware. Something needs to take the stream onto the screen but it will be a lot cheaper in that sense. With the downside being more expensive games, I'd assume

Completely agree. Honestly, it's like half the gaming community seems to think that everyone else is a moron. If MS starts going all digital and it doesn't offer good value then people will just stop buying it, this isn't a frog in hot water situation.

If you think a product offers good value then buy it, you're not going to trigger some kind of gaming apocalypse because you bought a console without a disc drive.
I'm with the guys here saying they prefer physical to digital. I could buy something on the store for 40 quid, absolutely hate it and I've lost my money. Go buy it physically and hate it but I can at least sell it on or swap it for something else.
