Right... But... Physical.copies are still cheaper than digital AND.. you get a Blu-ray player. No enhancement on current gen ..pointless
Paying extortionate prices for digital games with the inability to trade-in/sell in the future? No, thanks.

Plus, they could’ve at least made it smaller considering it’s drive-less.

Plus the price drop isn't nearly as big as it should be, to make this console worth it I'd expect the RRP to be £150 max

1x wireless controller, Minecraft, Sea of Thieves and Forza Horizon 3 Games (Digital Editions)
Just wondering why they say with wireless controller as if its not the norm
So you can no longer watch blu rays? Pointless.
Isn't this normal price?
All these games are part of Game Pass anyway

Physical media is dying. Some companies have already said they will stop producing bluray drives soon. Everything is going digital. Its inevitable.

Have they not scrapped this all digital idea yet? Iv all the digital gold games claimed, but in the long term it still much affordable with disc base games, defo a lot more with backwards games 95% of the time!
digital much better, 4k films best purchased from iTunes. Can play them aware anytime. Just a pain my 4k Lg TV doesn't have the apple tv app and my old Apple TV box doesn't play 4k. I assume as content is updated so will the film purchase.
My mate Jay says he took the cover off his and the bluray drive was still there hiding underneath! 📀

My mate Jay knows why they didn't!
Has anyone swapped from ps4 to xbox and found any difference besides some games were unavailable?
I would still rather the drive. Used Xbox 360 games would be useful, as some can be grabbed for next to nothing. While their digital prices are still hanging around £6-20.
Cold until download prices are below cex copies.
The only thing this model does is save Microsoft money. I could understand if it was ~ £100 but they haven't passed the saving onto the consumer.

PC gamer and casual console user here, I've not needed a disc of any kind in years, and the fact Microsoft is pushing so many games to digital (via Game pass) on both PC and Xbox, makes this a fantastic choice.

It's not pointless, it's just not for you.

Missed a trick with this console.

I've got both and personally the PS4 is leagues ahead of the xbox, especially in terms of UI and updates etc. the Xbox is not nice to navigate and the downloadable content and updates take forever compared to the Playstation.

It's all personal preference at the end of the day and the controller is nice for the Xbox, but PS has the better exclusives soooo...
No blue ray option, I'll stick with disc .
This is great to just stick in a spare room linked to game pass. Just sell the download codes

Just in case you thought it was wired
Think this is the current promo price, saw it in Tesco at £169 the other day

So much opinion and speculation... the majority of all media in any format in any HEDC is digital. Hell it's even suggested that 98% of all money has no physical embodiment.
Not to mention a digital product is eternal, one lovely scratch on your precious blu Ray's and your done
Is this any smaller than the standard Xbox One S or have they literally just taken the drive out and thats it?

Wow, seems pointless.

If it was smaller and quieter then I'd be tempted.

Yeah at first I thought I don't really need disks but then I realised how many second hand games I own.
It's quite inconvenient really not having the blue ray drive, so I'd probably only want to pay £140 at the most for an Xbox without one.

I don't use a disk drive on my pc. Haven't done for a couple of years but there are a lot of good second hand bargains you can't buy on the Xbox if you don't have the drive.
I feel it's a bit different with the consoles.

I guess so, but the nostalgia soon wore off for me with backwards compat.
Nice video here

Agreed. The sole reason I got the “proper” version over the PS4 (and any other standalone DVD player) was to play my 4K Blu-rays. And it does the job really well too. Oh, and to play the occasional game too....
£100-ish would be hot. Although I'm not voting cold either

Most of my games are second hand off Amazon.
Got games like uncharted 4 on the PlayStation and cod ww2 for a tenner each.
Wouldn't hand bought them if they weren't cheap. Got a few digital titles but not as many as I have on the pc.
