THE game of the generation.

To think Projekt Red wasn't even half the size of Rockstar when this game came out... Absolutely smashed it, and shows you don't need a gigantic team behind a game to make a good game, and we should never let huge gaming corporations give us half assed games for £50+.
Coming to game pass soon.

Nice, this is an amazing open world adventure game, never got it when it came out because of a lack of money, might as well now.
Coming to game pass soon.
Will be on game pass In 2 weeks don’t forget
The version coming to gamepass is the base version that could leave gamepass at some point. So £10.49 for the base game plus expansions is a good deal.

Saves me a tenner, cheers
Seems a good price but is it actually any good?

Yeah but just the base game I think. So you'll have to buy the DLC on sale now which works out slightly dearer than if you bought the GOTY edition.
I must be the only person alive who thought this game was crap. Beautiful game, terrible combat, terrible voice acting and lip syncing, I turned the game off when one of the side missions was to find an old ladies frying pan...... which was in her kitchen. That made my mind up, if this is the effort they put into the side missions I'm not wasting my time.

Yep, just you. It has its quirks but is definitely one of the best games of the generation

I guess I should give it another go. As for it saying it's one of the best games of this generation that's not saying much, this generation has sucked apart from Titanfall 2, the two Wolfenstein games and AC: Odyssey. I've lost count of the amount of games I've bought and chinned off very quickly. Or they are all remakes of the last gen games.

Can I point out cost of making this game? 81 mln $. Truly cost of indie games studio

And GTA5 was $265 million.

And red dead redemption 2 $664 million.

So $81 million for a game as big as Witcher 3 is very good.

I am not saying Witcher 3 is bad, personally think is great. Just pointing out that CDPRed is not an Indie games studio but huge developer. It's not size of Rockstar but also their portfolio of games is quite limited. Basically The Witcher trilogy over last 10 years and nothing else. Also it is a single player game only so cost of making it is much lower than GTA V or RDR2. Anyway the quality of games from CDPRed is much higher than quantity of Rockstar's Cant wait for Cyberpunk 2077 to release.

Rockstar makes more games than one every 5 years They must be much bigger as they got their own studios everywhere. CDPRed got policy of hiring people just for a project and that's why amount of employees is much lower there. They just do the job and they're gone. It's like comparing two building companies one got 1000 employees and second one only 200 employees and 1000 subcontractors Both can do same but amount of employees is different.

Do you work for Rockstar or something?

Let's just give credit where credit is due.

Rockstar couldn't dream of making a game that was as big and successful as Witcher 3 using the same resources and man power.

Even Red Dead Redemption 2 wasn't as successful as they wanted it to be, and there was a tonne of dodgy stories going around regarding how they treated their staff during the development of it all.
Technically cdpr are indie. They are independently owned rather than corporately owned

What? The lip syncing is fine, voice acting is fine and so is the combat. What's wrong with the combat? Three games now with 2 and this having differences in combat but yet people still constantly complain about it. What would you want them to do different? It's quick, smooth and can't just button mash your way through. You have to take it a bit slow and think a little.

I’ve had plenty of other single player games I’ve loved, horizon zero dawn, spider man, god of war
Always struggled to get into The Witcher universe. I've got one of the books i played game 2 - Death of Kings?. Didn't enjoy it much found it a bit inpenetrable at times and the combat system was a bit meh. So I've never bought this - game of the generation? WOW. Makes me think i should pick it up. if its that highly rated maybe i will dive in this time.

All PS4. I've got an Xbox. Which is what I based my statement on. If Sony ever make a console with a controller as good as the Xbox's then I'll change console. I really hate the PlayStation controller and that's pretty much the only reason people stick to Xbox. We all know PlayStation has better games and a lot more variety. Next generation I'm going Sony and buying a 3rd party controller.

Ha!! I was in hysterics at the voice acting and lip syncing when I played it last. It was like being in an interactive B movie.

I just found the combat clunky and a bit old, when you compare it to say Assigns Creed or For Honor (not easy to get into but rewarding).

Take it a bit slow?? If the game was any slower my brain would shutdown. Even Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice which was slow paced was more interesting. And I never had to look for a frying pan or get attacked by wolves every two minutes. Seriously how many wolves are in this game, it shouldn't have been called Witcher it should've been called Warden: The Wolf Sanctuary.
Just a heads up for anyone interested, the Witcher TV series is on Netflix from the 20th December

I played the game and enjoyed it, might give it another go before watching :/
Awesome game with hundreds of hours of gameplay at an awesome price for the UK - voted hot
The books are surprisingly good, worth a read!

Good price for the GOTY ed + expansions

I’m primarily Xbox too, got a PS4 for the exclusives listed (and a few others) Despite that I’ll be sticking with Xbox as my main console next gen. Gears and Halo are my main multi player games (along with destiny which can be done on either), plus forza horizon for single player. Backward compatibility and game pass are the main reasons though

Don't forget one of the best games of the generation that gets overlooked by absolutely everyone, Sunset Overdrive.

Have you tried the PS4 controller ? I hated the PS3 controller and felt like you. This gen though the PS4 controller has become my favourite with me now preferring it over the Xbox controller which I felt wasn’t as good as the 360. You can buy adaptors to use an Xbox controller on a PS4 though.

I have tried the PS4 controlled several times and no I still don't like it, just feels like it was designed for people with a thumb and two fingers on each hand. Or Jeremy Beadle. Personally I think the Xbox one controller is excellent and after looking online today there are several aftermarket ones that very closely resemble the Xbox's. I may be getting a PS4.

I accept your opinion but in mine Gears 4 was a truly terrible game, so bad I had zero interest in 5. I loved the first three games. Always been a fan of the Halo games (single player yes multiplayer no not my cup of tea).
Bad voice acting, cold.
Coming out on games pass, save your money

It's part of the humour of the game.
