I have one... Still in the box and unopened as I realised I have no TV aerial anyway

Maybe one day I'll get an aerial.

Good find. No idea on the prices elsewhere but I'd invest £5 in one of these to try it out.
I know this is more expensive , but for those that cannot make it to a poundland store...

Amazon have the same deal for 8.52

I saw these today in norwich store. Got excited I thought it was the kinect adapter.
Yeah I was going to say that but didn’t have the price to hand, showing as £8.52 on Amazon with prime as I used that as my benchmark

I really like the built in TV stuff on the X1, decent feature.
Good deal.

Just in case people ask, these can't be used on a PC
What does this give you exactly . Freeview through your Xbox

Pretty much, there's also no DVR functionality (it was planned but cancelled, which is a shame and a bit pathetic since the PS3 could do it).

Yes they can, there's a driver for Linux (My brother uses one).

Have you got a link? It used to be the Hauppage one worked, but this one didn't.. It would be great if there is now a driver!
That'll be £5land then
Wouldn't it cost a fortune in leccy to use an Xbox as a Freeview box?
In stock in Solihull Mel Square Store
The bloody remote is like gold dust though. I think I bought the last one in West Yorkshire lol

All I know is my brother told me support was recently added to the kernel, before that he was using a beta/development build or some such.

These work great but Xbox have vastly under-delivered on what they initially promised on the software. Most notably not being able to record shows.
Why buy this when you can download kodi from Xbox store.

But they can be used with LibreElec and tvheadend.
Am I missing something here.... Your xbox is plugged into a TV that most likely has freeview built in, why would you need this?

Perhaps the reason they are being sold off so cheaply, most people these days at least have a television with an integrated tuner. Maybe gamers that have a HDMI monitor , university students etc would find them useful just having one screen in university halls etc.
Got one last summer from Amazon for a whole 74p more It's actually a decent little freeview receiver, good to have as a backup or if you're using your Xbox with a monitor.
I bought mine for around £25. Hardly ever use it but does the trick when you want to stream live TV. There was a period of time that they weren't being produced, no supply, high demand and prices on eBay were £60+ ! Worthwhile gadget for £5 to extend the capabilities of your xbox.

Good news, I'm still using a self compiled kernel with some patches on it, I'll get that updated soon

I've been using a couple with tvheadend for a while and it works fine. Probably no luck for Windows support, though.
Xbox also binned Snap, which was a picture in picture mode to let you watch telly and game on the same screen.
Thanks for the tip. Set tvheadend up on a Raspberry Pi 2 using one of these and it works really well. Only a single tuner but well worth a fiver
Thanks for the heads up, it may not be a £1 but at least 50% of my local poundlands stock is more than a £1 these days.

I just have to remember to take a right at the cheap tools section and not a left, or I'll end up in the ladies underwear section again. Genuinely felt like father Ted

This will work nicely with my projector during the World Cup.

Yeah its a shame, that feature was perfect for when England are playing.

Do you need a tv Aerial for it to work? Can you get freeview channels with it? I have no tv aerial lol

because Kodi is shi*e for live TV
Need a TV licence to use these things
^^Yep, any device that you use to watch or recored live tv or access iplayer will require you to have a TV licence....of course i personally have not watched any live UK TV now for the last 4 years and what a complete joy it has been, i can jump between Netflix or Prime and still it won't cost the price of a TV licence fee for a year.

He might have a monitor and not be able to use an aerial
Has anyone had this working on a Synology or did they use a raspberry Pi too??
Lol I never find good stuff in my 2 Poundland’s lol
I bought one of these some time ago expecting that DVR support was coming, I even sold my Humax DVR on the basis of this, only for Microsoft to cancel the project. It worked pretty well, the Kinect integration was nice, but for some reason ITV-HD kept disappearing from the list of channels which was a pain, then my Kinect died. I lost interest after that and now have a TV with everything I need built in to it, the only thing I use the Xbox for apart from games these days is for Sky.

For £5 it's still a pretty good deal though, an ideal upgrade if the tuner built in to your TV can only receive SD and not HD. You DO need an aerial for this!

I would be interested in using this on a Windows PC if it were possible.
