Yes it may be store specific, but Tesco Shepton Mallet has Xbox one wireless controllers with play and charge kit for only £14. Worth a trip if you’re local as st least 5 left on shelf.

There was a turtle beach headset reduced from £62.99 down to £32. And at the end of the aisle, at the back of the store end, was a stand with some games for £5. I remember seeing prey, recore, and titanfall 2. Nothing stood out as a major bargain though

Be patient. I’ve been in Shepton Tesco 3 nights this week and these controllers and other reductions weren’t there until tonight. Maybe they’re drip feeding them out to keep the footfall of bargain hunters coming in to spend

No probs. Good luck, hopefully they’ll have a load more deals out for you tomorrow too
FYI This is the 2nd gen version so it doesn't have Bluetooth etc.

Still, bloody good deal!
Folk move fast in Shepton. Just had the last one! Cheers op. Bargain!

😪😪
The play and charge kit alone retails for that price, this is a STEAL! 👌
Crazy prices lately! Do the asda and Tesco know something the rest of us don't?
Like all consoles will be outlawed by the government by the end of the year, or similar. Coz they seem to be shifting stock at a loss

didn't know xbox one controllers used bluetooth so this is confusing, according to this link the older (I assume 1st gen version?) doesn't have bluetooth?

Bluetooth is only used when connecting to a PC and even then you can still connect using the Xbox Wireless Protocol if you like.

Gen 1: Original
Gen 2: Improved bumpers and added 3.5mm jack
Gen 3: New S model with streamlined design, added Bluetooth support for connecting to PC, improved wireless range.

Any version will work on any Xbox One.
Sadly no discounts in my local.....

Please excuse my ignorance but what do you mean? Don’t the controllers use Bluetooth to connect to the Xbox? If not, what’s the difference? What is Bluetooth for? Cheers .
Sorry to rub it in but talk about being in the right place at the right time...was in Tesco Widnes when they were filling up one of the sales bins with all electronic stuff. The staff were helping themselves to buy later and one mentioned to me on passing 'have you seen these'! Got three xbox one messenger pads for £3 each (one for me, father in law and nephew) but they had PS4 XBONE games for a fiver, loads of turtle beach headsets for xbox one for £15, VR headsets for a couple of quid and bits and pieces like that. Had tons of the spiderman drones for a tenner they were kicking out for £70 before xmas

It is just pure luck and by the time they are posted on here they are usually gone by the time you can get there. Good luck to those of you who find these deals, hard cheese if you can't. Try not to get too angry when people post and you can't get them they're only trying to help. I must admit it's like finding money when you get local fire sales like this!

-Bluetooth is for PC, to which it will connect via a Microsoft wireless receiver.

-For Xbox conection, it apparently uses a proprietary bit of tech by Microsoft, more like wifi than bluetooth but neither.

Link.

(Re 1st gen controllers): 'The internal wireless protocol that allows the controller to communicate with the console has been overhauled from the 360 era, replacing a 1.6 megabit per second connection of the old one with a modified WiFi protocol for the new one that enables 20 times the bandwidth which, in turn, Alam said, "allows a whole different variety of different accessories we can build with the controller and around the controller."The new proprietary protocol—to be clear, it's not WiFi nor Bluetooth, which Alam said was too slow for their needs—should reduce controller-to-console latency by 20% compared to the old 360 connection. How fast? Alam says that the time from button press on an Xbox One controller to the console receiving the signal should be 9 milliseconds.

Bluetooth is only used to connect the controller to a PC, though you can buy an adapter for PC if you want to connect the controller via the Xbox Wireless Protocol (same as how it connects to an Xbox console) which is far superior than Bluetooth.
