Not good price ...

In your opinion.

Console is currently £349+ everywhere else brand new.

And drops to around £270 when on offer.

Good deal.
HEAT OP.
Cheap as micro chips
No game with it either, only before Christmas they where throwing them out for £280 in most places with a game or two, still the stand alone version was going for over £400 on some sites, so this is a good deal just for the console alone

So ?

There will be another Ebay code along soon enough, no need to lose the UK economy VAT.
Don't forget prices are artifically inflated at the moment for a couple of reasons 1) they can't sell them cheaper than before xmas otherwise they would have a lot of returns at old price and re purchase at new price and 2) the new series x is released later in the year so they have to legally sell the xbox one at a certain price for a set period of time so when they come to do their next load of deals they can say 50 pct or 60 pct off the inflated price rather than reflect the true discount that would probably be nearer 10 pct or 20 pct off the true price that the majority of customer bought them at.
I guess it's an OK price but the next generation Xbox Series X is out in roughly another 10 months so it's kind of hard to justify spending nearly £300 on something that will be out of date so soon unless there's a game you really need to play just now.

Expecially seeing as the next Xbox will be backwards compatible and run all of the games this does.
Dont see the point. New Xbox/PS5 this year.

If you didnt by a console in the last 7 years you might as well just wait a few more months and get the new Xbox instead.

You could easily sell this for £150-200 at that time.

So £70-120 to play this years new games in the best quality console-wise, pretty good!

I regularly buy from Amazon de/fr but wouldn't if I was confident the UK would offer a similar price shortly. The funny thing is all the Brexiteers sick of giving money to EU governments do it

Xbox one X hasn't been around for 7 years.

If you have a 4K screen, and havent experienced games on the One X yet, this is a must buy.

Can always sell it for £150-200 later down the line.
Saving my money for the series X ,I've got the original Xbox one and as I don't have a 4K telly just yet I never needed to buy this, now is the right time to go for a 4K telly in time for the series X. This is good for those who can't afford the estimated £500 for the series X though.

Maybe, but I doubt an Xbox X will be worth much more than £100 used in a years time. Still, I guess if you can get a years use out of it for ~£150 it's not that bad.

I have an OG Xbox and would rather wait for next gen than upgrade to the X though.

The overall price of the Xbox one X won't fall too hard, because new games coming out in a years time will be available on the Xbox One S/X aswell as the Series X.

In fact, we aren't getting Series X only exclusive games until 2022, going by rumours.

Or those who have a kid born this time of year, actually works well as she gets the one x and then when a new one come out I get it

What do you mean by out of date?? C'mon,
People are still using the older models. I really don't see the comparison between £270 for this and the at least £500 for the Series X, they're miles apart!
I personally waited until the One X came down to £250 last Xmas to finally get one. I'm sure as hell not upgrading to Series X for at least another 2 years when the prices are much more reasonable.
deathhaggis18/01/2020 10:44

Xbox One S/X wont be out of date for atleast another 2 years. Likely longer.

Games coming out in the next couple of years will be available to play on the Xbox One / S / X , and Ps4, aswell as the next gen consoles.

Along with the odd exclusive game only being available on the next gen consoles.
Personally with the series X coming out in November, if you have no interest in buying one for a couple years I would wait till this summer/fall unless you are desperate for one now. The X is only going to be more and more heavily discounted as the year goes on. The good news is ( if you're looking for a current Xbox) Microsoft isn't giving the series X its own exclusives for at least a year or two, which means the X still has a few years left of being a viable lower spec 4k device once series X drops

My inconsequential advice, wait a bit until these things are readily clearance at sub £250. You could get one for £260-270 with a game just this past holiday season, so £225-250 can't be too far away at this point.

Yep, Microsoft has specifically said cross-platform titles will be their strategy for the next couple of years. They mostly want you as a gamepass subscriber so they dont care what system( or PC) you game on. It will be interesting to see if this strategy works, but as a consumer it means you can upgrade at your pace.
Not really a great deal just for the console. I paid £270 with a couple of games.
Isn’t the new Xbox going to cost around £450-550?

If so, the folks that are buying this for £270 are definitely not the same people that are willing to shell out £450+ for a new console.

It’s a decent price and will be supported for the next 4 years at least.
Great. I have one to sell so this won't help

Not really.
US rollout October 2020, probably very limited European rollout xmas 2020, wont be till summer 2021 that new X box will have some serious traction, and remember, all next gen x box games will run on old hardware for at least a year (was announced last week), so any machine bought now will still be viable in 2022.

RRP is still £449. (Although anyone is very silly to pay that kind of money for it at this point, I agree).

Although common price drop is £349.

And "deal" price is £270 or less, which is 100% worth it if you have a 4K display to go with it.

I brought one from tesco in April 2018 with 3 games and an extra pad for £350, it's broke now hardrive failed. I just think it's still high considering the new gen this year. But each to their own.

That was a great price at the time, and £270 is the current great price.

You can buy this and sell it when the Series X comes out (or buy a replacement HDD, much cheaper).

The price of this second hand in 10 months time will be, probably, £200.

If the leaks are true, the Series X will be 30% more powerful. So games are going to look significantly better, just like the One X over the Ps4 Pro.

With that said, I'll probably end up getting both like I always do.
