I'll have to cast my mind back to when that was the RRP!
You can get an x with Jedi fallen order on bnp 12 months with very for £299. It hasn’t been £450 for ages. And will drop again this year alot
Pointless purchase with series x around the corner.
Unless you can get your hands on the Asda £150 xbox one x. Buying at this late in the console cycle is pointless. Especially at nearly £300!!!
on paper this looks like a good deal, and HotUK deals are all about deals, but if you had looked on here, prices on xbox one x consoles really need to be around £250 to be classed as a deal these days. still a good spot though...

Not really, new Xbox is rumoured to be £500 and MS have confirmed already all next gen games are also going to be on Xbox one also as a rule. So you can still get all new games like the Halo infinite etc for the Xbox X you dont need a series X to play the games for the next 10 years.

A few corrections to your exaggerated comment:
"new Xbox is rumoured to be £500 and MS have confirmed already": Yes probably true. (more likely the £450 mark).
"all next gen games are also going to be on Xbox one": Not true. Microsoft have confirmed ALL xbox one games are going to be compatible and some publishers have confirmed cross buy already. Halo is a first party title so of course it will be since Microsoft own the xbox brand... This isn't the case for every publishers release.
"Xbox X you dont need a series X to play the games for the next 10 years.": So what you're saying is, (Game Pass and first party titles aside. Also the select cross buy titles (currently cyberpunk, again to a side.) you think every release over the next 10 years will be backwards compatible? ... What is the point in pushing a new console then? I think you're a little confused there chap.

Nearly £300 on last gen tech, that's 60% the way towards the series X. IF you have been doing Microsoft Rewards, realistically that's how much the the series X will cost you as well.

It will be at least 3 years before any titles are exclusive to next gen. They are not going to cut off their main source of revenue.

Nothing confusing the series x is another step up console like the Xbox one x. Sure third parties may make series x exclusives but thanks to MS insisting all first party games are going to also be released on the Xbox one base, which is the weakest console bar the switch this generation it means games will be held back somewhat. Disc size is defiently going to be an issue as the Xbox one only reads upto 50gb discs. Meaning next gen we getting multi disc games for Xbox at least like back when it was 360 Vs ps3. This is a hardware issue. Plain and simple and even Eurogamer have picked up on this massive issue. Be prepared for massive installs and/or downloads come next gen. With possibly only single player on disc and multiplayer to be a download mode with both manufacturers already confirming they can split these modes next gen. I could go on but point is, yeah it's less powerful but if you don't want that extra power then you can easily save some money here as until we see the series x we can't just say. Hey we should wait. That's just daft.. Especially if you cannot afford the newer consoles right now or anytime soon. Cause you know some ppl aren't as well off as you. Flaunting your wealth on here.

3/4 what you've said is just junk "fake news". We have long install times now because they make 3/4 of a game on disc and demand a 100GB install. if they use BD XL which is 100GB and not 50GB this will avoid the dual disc issues.

Flaunting my wealth? - I said I paid £150 for my xbox one x LOL. I'm just not a chump who is happy to pay double for the same.

So if you don't have a console today and want to game should you just play nothing?

Your choice whether you can wait and pay the little extra for next gen tech. Or buy it now, Enjoy it and not cry when the new xbox is out.

I'm not a life adviser on consoles. I'm saying what I'd personally do at the time during its life cycle if I didn't already own one.

Also more to the point, consoles can be had for under £100. Granted not X / Pro models. But from the angle you're coming from, it is still a console.
