Cheaper option: XBox + Forza + Assassin's Creed Origins for £449.99 at Currys.
Sell Assassin's Creed for £31 in CEX, buy GOW 4 and Halo Wars 2 from your links... and we have £440.97, nearly £30 less than posted deal

Mate there's nothing exclusive about Scorpio or any other bull crap corporations come out with. You want exclusive then it has to be 1in a million. These corporations prey on honest hard working ppl like u to exploit them and their hard earned money. End of day u have the same spec console minus some fancy art. Nothing exclusive about that. Just common folk stuff

469.99 not 449.99

Are all three physical disks?

Microsoft milked it on marketing.. pre order the limited scorpio they said! Still became available post release, took maximum profits day 1 and 2 weeks later put out offers like this. Well played.

Good deal btw. Wish i had waited.

£499.99 with extra controller and all three games

4% quidco as well
Edited by: "msiddiq1989" 28th Nov

Hopefully after trying all these bundle offers they will just drop the price to £350 for the console only.

Ah, that's the saviour then. I did wonder why the massive interest. These can all be picked up cheaper separately.

Microsoft don't offer an Xbox one X bundle yet, so yes physical discs are supplied

Exactly what I was thinking. People preordered for months at £449.99 to then find if they'd waited a week of two they could have got a game or two bundled in. That's a bit shit Microsoft.

They certainly did. It spent months at full price pre-release, then about 3 weeks post-release. It's got to be a borderline case for trading standards. Or rather I wish it was.

you dont know that most of the time these bundles are codes now only time they are physical is if it is retailer offering the games as bundle themselves at own cost or over stocked on disc but now it tends to be codes they use which are provided to them alot of the time the codes on receipt.

not sure people understand how bundles work stores don't do them for fun they are given discounts from publishers which is why you tend to see a lot of the same ones about but some which are offered from retailer are because of stock price reduction or need to clear some out so they will take little hit.

seeing as this is from ms direct giving all these games costs them 0 if download code and maybe £1 if they did provide a disc but it looks great too customer so really it's not good deal no middleman so they could of dropped it to £400 easily.

These things wont shift major units until there are some serious exclusives for it. By then the price will be 2/3rds of this at the most. I got caught out with PS Pro and VR and wont happen again. There is no real incentive here.

its more the game bundles that were offered even before release they could of at least offered us the option as well as i said im happy with my console but when i bought it i did feel they would be a little harder to find amazon have scorpios now

Yeah I nearly fell for the Scorpio limited edition hype then I looked at my x box one day one edition and thought it's worth f**** all now!

It's called marketing strategy, tactics, business, capitalism and then the people who are buying sucking in and laughing at you.

Got a feeling these will be down to £350 after Christmas or shortly there after. All the recent controversy over micro transactions in full price games isn't helping at the moment

Incorrect. I do know that as I enquired with Microsoft myself. They advised if it's a digital download code it will state that on the order, if not then it's a physical disc. So this deal is physical discs... Dont assume someone hasn't done their homework first.
Yes some stores will create their own bundles, agreed, however the Xbox X is so new that to date a bundle has been physical games.

Good price for the bundle.

MVP

I think the Amazon £449 console + Forza 7 + Assassins Creed Origins deal is superior. Considering the resale value and well, it's £20 less.

In the past week or so;

1. I bought XB1X from John Lewis for £449.00.

2. Two days later John Lewis price matched GAME £429.00.

3. I sold the controller that came with it for £35 - eBay

4. I bought another on AMAZON for £449.00 with assassins creed and forza 7. Best deal yet imo, can't get John Lewis to Price match console only with bundles.

5. I sold assassins creed for £42.42(!) - eBay

STEP 6... I need to a. return the John Lewis Xbox for a refund, b. (preferably) return the Amazon console boxed to john lewis!

My question is, will John Lewis notice if I return the amazon (same) product? Will the barcode say "this is amazon stock, not allowed!" ???

This must be selling so well if it’s getting discounts and bundles in its release month...

you can't return a console from another store they scan the serials otherwise lots of people would try stunts with switching consoles.

They do not advise digital codes when bundled.(small print should state it)

Because it's new has nothing to do with bundles I think you are getting confused with the branded bundles.

bundles that have games separate even download codes come from deals arranged with publishers or the store needing to shift units of the titles.so may be willing to take bit of a hit (only big companies tend to do this Walmart so on the likes of tesco no longer even do it but they did back in 360 days)

some one like ms who is the publisher of these titles and maker of the console can add anything to the pack it costs them nothing if its physical copy that is because they have them lying around and need to be shifted nothing else

You say that with a lot of conviction, but can you confirm - is that speculation/logical reasoning, or, 100% guaranteed? Did you work in a store before? Have you tried it before or do you know someone who has?

My options are either easy; return the Amazon Xbox One X to John Lewis.

Or hard; open the Amazon Xbox One X, do a network data transfer to copy 700GB+ worth across to the other xbox and then return the legit John Lewis Xbox to John Lewis.

It seems like a bit of a mission but I can do it either way. Anyone else know if you can return the same item, different store to John Lewis?

I have actually tried my best to google the scenario and I found it difficult to find any definitive information.

If I were to guess, I would say there is a 50/50 chance they will be able to identify the code, or they will just accept it.

I have few friends that work in different retail John Lewis, Game, Toys R Us.

You could try it your choice but they tend to scan them and it comes up with details and if you paid with card they have that on record with the serial number of the product.

If this was simple don't you think people would just buy say 500gb and 1tb from different places and then switch them so you get 1tb for 500gb price if you see what I am getting at because they look the same it's serial that identify it.

The other thing is they may take it back and you think you have gotten away with it but later on you find you are being charged for fraud they do a lot of tracking of items now because this is what people used to do buy goods from one store take them to another to make profit electrical goods are very trackable

Toys R Us use to check every serial number to make sure it all matched up and my friend said Game does this out the back because they have to send it off so it goes through fair few checks their end and the end it's received at but he did say some stores if unopened they will just sell it again

Once it is open and used lot of places wont take it back for refund unless it is faulty

Thanks for the comprehensive answer. I may just get on and do a network transfer to the new console and use that, then. But I'm going to call John Lewis and be 100% with them first, see exactly what they say.

I was aware of the things you mentioned above. I was just trying to get an impression how much stores actually care and protect against these things, whether there was something I haven't thought of which will make it easier. Looks like I'll be doing it the hard way.

They are aggressive about it now for years they moaned about and how they lose millions it's a type of fraud

I was in cex the other day and someone tried stating they had purchased item in there had receipt they looked it up on computer and it had history of that item which was not the one he had purchased it even said who the staff member was that sold it and the store this item was sold 3 years ago the one he was trying to return.

I think you should use usb drive in future and log in on site set other ones as main you would be set.

John Lewis terms are on website but it's up to you really if you want to try it shame it's not after xmas when they have loads of returns going in.better odds of getting away with it then
