It would difficult to nick a game if it doesn’t come with one!
£58 trade-in for an original Xbox One.

I'm tempted by a net spend of £201 for a One X, but on the other hand tempted to skip the X and it's £200 towards a Series X...

at this point I'd say wait if it was a few months earlier at least then maybe not but now it's so close and that 200 will be gold for the new console. especially considering the xbox you have still works fine with the games

I bought an Xbox from Amazon France, the seals had been replaced, but it wasn't because somebody had opened it to steal the game codes, it was to put them in! Not professional of MS I know, but no reason to think it is not brand new boxed. Lots on the forums about it.

Everyone's a comic on this site

I was mainly speaking about Currys. When I took it back to store they tried giving me another one with broken seals. I made them go through all of their stock until they gave me a sealed one.
I’ve got a brand new, in box PS 4 Pro that I bought via the Game Modern Warfare trade-in offer last October. Currys will offer me a £140 voucher. Would it be better selling privately? Only opened the outer box for the game.

You'd be better trading in at cex or game. I got £120 cash for my ps4 500gb.
I couldn't justify spending this on a Console with the new one round the corner. Heat added for the price though as it is the cheapest around.
Bit early to be clearing out current stocks for a new model that’s not likely to be available until the end of the year

How many games do you have that are X enhanced? I'd be tempted to save my £200.
New console will be about £400-500 I reckon, so come December you'll be wishing you'd saved your money.
Silly question - it says it comes with Blu-Ray optical drive but I can't see an opening....where is it ?

Plenty of games, but no 4K TV - though definitely not replacing that until it fails (if lucky can skip straight to 8K). That's the main reason I've held off so long as it's hard to find confirmation of which games have super-scaling (4K->1080P) etc... to really benefit.

Certainly expecting new console to be at least £500. Thanks

Depends how much you game too. I have a 4K TV but it's not a top end one. I don't have many Xbox games and I don't play much either. That said, I'd like to see games like Forza Horizon and Red Dead on an X, but the games still look great in 1080p and the story and gameplay is the same. I'd save your money.

Funny though cos I'm still toying with getting this
Good price, you would think MS have 2 new consoles coming out this year or something

On another note it's a decent console, just hope the HDD doesn't break as it's a bit of a pain to replace (as I found out).

Sales are down 35% since the announcement of the Series X, I think clearing stock now is the only sensible thing to do.
Decent deal!
Trying to justify this on the basis of they've said there won't be any exclusives for new console for first year, so this should tidy me over til end of 2021..
Congrats on the first post

But you can set up the consoles and game-share with another, so for every game bought you effectively get 2 copies you can both play at the same time. Also factor in regular sales with some ridiculously good prices for many games, plus decent discounts for games that aren't too old and it's often a lot cheaper and with many more benefits, such as convenience, no risk of games being damaged, lost etc.

Then also bear in mind buying digital games from foreign stores or with discounted credit and it's even cheaper.

8k won’t be a consumer thing for a LONG time, there’s simply no content. I have an x and a 4K tv and it makes a huge difference, absolutely stunning and there is quite a few x enhanced games. In saying that, will be getting a series x at launch. Lol
good price .. recently upgraded my Vanilla xbox at CEX for an X and have no regrets.

even with the series X due to come out soon lol

Think they are probably price matching GAME. At the moment, they have several bundles with 2month NOW TV entertainment passes for 259.99, along with a game (South Park, The Division 2, Fallout 76, Battlefield V, amongst others)

Amazes me how people can read into that statement and almost suggest there's no point in getting the new consoles until there are exclusives. The fact certain in house games will be usable on existing generation consoles, doesn't mean the Series X versions won't be night and day better. It's no different to PC gaming today with top rigs capable of playing games with the best resolution, highest frame rates and all bells and whistles with ultra graphics settings making games look stunning, yet the same game can still be played on lower spec PC's just with dialled down settings. Same game yes, but completely different experience. Why do you think people buy graphics cards that cost over £1000 alone.

The series X will also have effects such as Ray tracing and advanced physics capabilities which will be harnessed with that version. Once you throw in the benefits of the SSD speeds, advanced internal RAM etc and the gaming experience will be completely different, as you'd expect from a generational leap....

Plus people need to bear in mind, any game released in the first year or so will have been in development for years already, such as Halo Infinite, and originally the next gen specs wouldn't have been nailed down, hence developed with current gen in mind to start with, obviously then scaled up as time progressed. So any games built with Series X in mind from the off wouldn't be finished for another couple of years anyway, so not affected by the statement made.

Well, I would give you 150 for it
I’ve got a boxed One S I bought from Amazon France via. Hot Deals post too. Dangerous to my wallet coming here Wonder how much that would get to put towards an X instead?
How is this a great deal? It comes with no games, just game pass.
simothelimo21/02/2020 08:32

obviously he's talking about the game pass code.
I got a Xbox One X for £180 on Amazon Warehouse last week. No games, no box but came with controller, and HDMI. Console in perfect condition, not a scratch on it. Was listed as 'Acceptable'. Might be worth keeping an eye on those. Mine was found under the Fallout 76 Xbox One X bundle. Only bought it to play Forza Horizon 4 as I'm a PS4 guy.

Please feel free to post up a better deal, in the UK a brand new (sealed, not open box) Xbox One X will run you £289-£299 with a game. You can buy this one, get a game of your choice (not restrictive to the bundle game) and have the extra 3 months game pass for the same price or less.

Yeah I can't see 8k TV's being something that's needed at all until we get the enhanced consoles in a few years time and even then there's not going to be any other content you can use with it, even with streaming other media the bandwidth and speeds needed to fo for 8k gets a little silly.
I could be wrong but I think next gen we'll be looking at 4k 60fps as standard with certain titles at 120fps but the res being upscaled slightly to 4k and 8k will be just be an option for indie titles unless they can do 8k upscaled from 4k for AAA titles but from what I've read it seems there's more emphasis on devs wanting to push higher framerates rather than resolution, you also get into the realms of it depending on how good your eyes at that point and perhaps you'll only see a difference on a normal 55 inch panel with perfect 20/20 vision.
