My money saving tip of the day especially if you have a backlog of games.

Don't buy anymore games...finish what you have or at least some of them.

I use to do it all the time, see a sale and grab a load, then a new game came out i really wanted, grab that as well and before I knew I had over 50 games all unfinished and no money.

So I get Gold every year on the cheap, this year 14.99 deal which will last till March 2020, that's over 50 games with gold right there. Then every other week or lately every week, free games to try over a weekend.

Then I concentrate on one game at a time as its so annoying getting so far with a game, then going off to something else, going back and forgetting the controls and being terrible again. For me pretty much next year or so is already filled, Arkham Knight, Fallout 4, Skyrim, Mass effect 1-4 etc.

@Mrswitch This is basically the Xbox weekly sale where 75% of the games are incredibly overpriced compared to retail. Then certain other hidden gems occur like Witcher 3 wild hunt (with over 150 hours of gameplay BTW) for £10.50 when it’s £18 on disk and £14 in most Xbox sales. So some weeks you can spend a fortune and have a huge back log of games to play that you’ve never going to actually play and others you don’t spend that much.

Aww... Thanks for that.

I have no idea on gaming prices at all, as I'm not a gamer in the slightest (unless you count the odd game of Mario kart deluxe with my 5 year old)

Give me a mobile phone any day
Isn't SOTTR already on Game Pass ???

Besides ...... Bioshock the collection was £9.99 around Xmas. I'm guessing that's Brexit for ya
Edited by: "floppydesk" 12th Feb
Surprised devil may cry 4 & HD aren’t cheaper all quite old now, anyone know if they’ve been cheaper before?
Some great deals here. Love living in the UK
Ahh the weekly excited scan for sub-£10 Cuphead, then nope.

I would never of thought any different from Mrswitch unless Xiaomi brought a console out (spoilers lol)
I can recommend BioShock: The Collection, Diablo III: Eternal Collection, XCOM® 2 Collection, all are excellent games.

You certainly didn't buy it off Microsoft for £5, but possibly from a site like cdkeys.

Considering what's in the MCC and the amount of work they have invested in it to fix it, £15 is more than a fair price for 4 seminal games.

I love em, but the collection has been a fiver, I've seen it physical for a fiver.

SOTTR is on Game Pass yes, but these versions include DLC. But the season pass is currently on offer as well, iirc. (Had a quick glance at Major Nelson's blog this morning)
Danger Zone 2 is well worth picking up for fans of Crash mode on Burnout. The first game was a little disappoining, being set in a factory style environment, but this one is back to the roads and feels more like the Burnout mode.

Thought that was just me Why do they just keep rolling out the same old carp, many of these have been on and off "offer" for the same price since October!!
Monster Hunter and Witcher 3 GOTY for £30.50 noice
Not that it's the main draw here, but The Darkness is a masterpiece of atmosphere and story.
Yes it's likely cheaper at CEX, but if you've never heard of it, at least have a look.

My nephews are only 8 and 6 but they get so annoyed with me having more games than them. Esp when my sister asked what games console to get, I said xbox, she gets Playstation so least all my discs are safe from being scratched as they can't look after anything.

I really can relate to this (like alot of people on here). I was strong until that lunar year sale. Although, I showed restraint and picked only 2-3 years games l fully intend to play. But yeah I've been a PC gamer a little over 2 years and aquired nearly 600 years. Plus, I have an Xbox one and ps4 with psvr. It's just never ending. Anyway, it's just a backlog, it seems kinda silly to complain when there's real problems happening in the world.

I’m at 498 possible games to not play. Ridiculous really and tell myself to calm it, but then today go and buy and start playing Monster Hunter when I’ve only just started playing Borderlands coop, half way through Red Dead and can’t remember where I am with Sniper Ghost Warrior 3. Still have some big titles to play such as Final Fantasy, Witcher 3 and recently Tomb Raider on Game Pass, but just can’t help myself. Scary to think if every game had a measly 10hr completion time and I played 5hrs every night it’d take me over 2 yrs to get anywhere close to catching up, all the while extra Games with Gold and Game Pass distractions being added. Think I’ll need counselling before long

Yep. The last game I purchased at release was Gears of War 3. Since then I focus on playing unfinished games I already have and buy additional games when at great prices. Particularly now newly released games cost a fortune (for me) which brings me back to the talk of game prices on the SEGA Megadrive and SNES all those years ago. Nowadays though a lot can be spent on the standard version of a game without extra mission/quest content for the game (I don't go for paying extra money on a game for in-game content such as skins or an item, which may only be useful for so long before being replaced with something better). Oh, and for good measure I avoid EA nowadays - I am still hoping 2k Sports will release another American football game (it doesn't have to be NFL due to licensing). Each to their own though

I don't have much of a choice. I do have savings and have friends who moan at me on xbox for not getting Red dead 2, or Gears 4 but their exactly that, savings. I have zero income at the moment, with a job coach now who understands autism and the difficulties. I love gaming and some seem to think I should give it up in order to save and pay my way. But this whole year, prob won't spend £20 on gaming. Its like Gamepass, never once paid full price and as of yesterday now got the 2months for £2 offer which if I accept it, I've had a total of 9 months for less than £10.
