Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 (2018 Version) £19.99 Delivered @ Microsoft Store

This is the new version of the Xbox One Windows 10 Adapter, about £5/6 cheaper than other places I have looked. Allows you to connect your Xbox One controllers to your Windows 10 machines.

A lot of people were not keen on the older one as it used to need repairing often and was quite large. So if you haven't got one yet, now is the time.

This better then than just using Bluetooth?

100%, better range, much less delay and doesn't disconnect as often. Can't update the firmware via Bluetooth either.

Its good for the older controllers that don't support Bluetooth and / or PC's that dont have it.
I've never had any problems with the older one on Win8.1 or 10. Decent enough price if anyone is looking to pick one up.
Seems steep when you can get a Bluetooth enabled extra controller for a not much more. Especially on the prime now deals. Okay I suppose if you've already got multiple controllers but who plays multilayer on one screen on PC?

It lets you use multiple controllers wirelessly. The blue tooth controller is limited to one. Handy for multi player.
I would like to get it if anyone can confirm it supports at least two controllers at a time? I like to play some 4 player split screen games.
Would this let you use your controller with a steam link?

I've got the older one and assume it's the same, I've used two controllers with it and no issues. Also the bluetooth connection doesn't work with a stereo headset connected through the controller plus I find the set up and reliability better through this dongle, it does grate paying £20 for the privilege but I've found it well worth it.

This table shows what's supported under the different OS's and connection type:

Might also be worth considering 8Bitdo for £15.99, Amazon doesn't mention the Xbox One S/X compatibility, but it is supported since a recent firmware upgrade

Pretty good for lots of cross-compatibility e.g. use a DS4 with a Nintendo Switch!

"Play your 8Bitdo Controllers, Nintendo Switch Pro, Nintendo Switch Joy-cons, Xbox One S/X Bluetooth controller, PS4, PS3, Wii Mote, Wii U Pro and more, wirelessly, on Windows PCs, Macs, Raspberry Pi, laptops and even Nintendo Switch."

Edit: can only have one controller connected at a time

I've never owned an Xbox, any of the gens but what I like about the controllers is that they just work out of the box with 99% of all games made in the last 10+ years, no extra software or config required but is this a good option for those who want to play with an alterative
I use my Gaming PC which is downstairs to stream upstairs to my MacBook in my bedroom. I'm currently using an Xbox One controller with a 3rd party driver but when i go back to using my PC, i have to change the controls for Euro Truck Sim all over again. If i put one of these in my PC, would it extend to my MacBook?
can you use xbox/Microsoft credit with this since its from the Microsoft store?

just wondering

Yes you can. I'm sure I've read somewhere it supports upto 10 at once. I have this new one and constantly use two at once.

This should work fine, it stands a much better chance than Bluetooth. I can't remember what the theorical limit is but I swear it can reach 10 to 15m's (just bare in mind your environment will reduce this).
Isn’t this just Bluetooth?

Nope, older controllers only used RF I believe, including the Elite controller

Can you find any tests to support the 'less delay' comment? Would be interested to see!

Yep, you can. I bought one last night and I was able to choose between using the credit on my MS account or the debit card I have on file with them.

Apologies if that is incorrect, I read about it years ago but didn't read into it. The lack of multi controller, some guys don't like being used via Bluetooth and the fact I would have to get a bluetooth device for my PC anyway was enough for me to go the adaptor route.

Actually, this might of been it: reddit.com/r/p…ag/

I was about to say Fifa on PC!
i currently use a bluetooth xbox controller but bluetooth does not support accessories like a headset or chatpad. Additionally bluetooth only supports 1 controller whereas the usb stick supports 4 (maybe 8?) controllers along with headsets and chatpads.

8 controllers indeed. If you use your controllers regularly, its a worthwhile investiment.
