On PC, latency with the adaptor is lower than with Bluetooth. Though wired should be lower still, so...
Just note that the Bluetooth connection isn't guaranteed. It did not work for me and had to return the controller. Bought one with the wireless adapter for a similar price from Very.

Before people start telling me I did something wrong...I have an Intel WiFi - Bluetooth 4.0 adapter (not a no name Chinese one) . Tried all the different connection methods and supposed fixes I could find online. Nothing worked. Apparently Microsoft managed to screw up the way this pairs with Windows 10 j a recent update.

This is a v1 controller, so it won't have bluetooth.
**EDIT** This is wrong, it is a V2 with Bluetooth.

I ordered this a few weeks ago and it works fine on the PC with a cheap chinese Bluetooth adapter.

THIS ONE, it was only £5 when I ordered it but I see it is £9 now.

What makes you say this? The photo is certainly of a v2 (white Xbox logo not silver) and the product description states "And with Bluetooth technology, play your favorite games on your mobile devices." (edit - unless I misunderstood and you're specifically referring to why the one drbrainsol purchased didn't work, rather than the one on sale here)

The dedicated dongle has definite bonuses over using Bluetooth, as the latency is slightly lower and you can use four of them with one PC rather than just a single controller. But I will note for anyone excited about the "and cable" part that it's just a MicroUSB - I use the controllers off my Xbox One S with PC all the time just by grabbing the nearest charging cable to hand.

I stand corrected; you're right, it's a V2.

My controllers (not from this specific purchase, but BT ones) always sync just fine with Windows; I regularly re-sync between various devices, mostly Windows 10 machines.
I ordered this last time around excellent price for a V2 controller just a waste of a wire that you don't really need if it's just for an Xbox
Will this work with Xbox One plugged in via the wire?

It will, I suppose? I've got the play & charge kit, and that's how you charge it while playing. But since it also works without the wire, you don't really need it to.
This is a weird one without the model number. For that price, you should really be getting Bluetooth capabilities, and one would hope you are given that now I don't think MS make them without.

This deal was already posted …This deal was already posted https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/xbox-wireless-controller-and-cable-for-windows-3350-delivered-at-microsoft-3405294

Exactly this.

I accidentally posted it again on Monday. I immediately expired it and asked mods to remove.

Then this deal gets to 800 heat and in daily picks... Bad moderation at it's best right here.

Voted cold
Thanks
