I saw a programme on Ch4 where an expert explained that all the fancy gobblydook the manufacturers use is rubbish. As long as the cable meets the v1.4 specification then they are all the same. You might as well buy one from eBay for a couple of quid.

I guess this is nationwide. Bought 1 from Asda in Bromborough. Keep in mind these are actually flat hdmi cables so they could run under a carpet etc.

Absolutely! Do not listen to places like WhatHiFi who say there is a difference when they review a cable. So long as it meets the requirements and is well built you will be fine.

Partially agree! But I've had ones from Poundland which leave static on screen, I wouldn't go the full hog and pay £15 upwards. But happy to pay around the £5 to £10 considering the cost/quality of the items it's linking.

Again I completely agree. I would always try and buy a decent cable for a good price. I didn’t even realise Poundland sold cables.

yeah i thought that till i had problems when using ps4 pro and 4k content to my lg oled then read to buy a certified cable so i bought one off amazon for £8.99 and alll my problems were sorted and all for a couple of quid more, so unless there certified id avoid them if your going to use them with a ps4 and want to play games etc in 4k

google handshake issues with 4k content

You can even buy expensive usb cables.
I've had issues with various HDMI cables with the PS4 Pro and been after a longer one for a while, and can confirm this one works and does the job with no issues. Since this one works so well I went back and got another.

Totally agree if it has a spec it must meet the spec to be sold as compatible. However the other nonsense you read about twisted pairs and cable shielding, gold plated and cable made in oxygen free environment is frankly snake oil. However, given the new speck and it's requirements i would be inclined to spend a few quid to get a decent cable not the so cheap it could give potential problems. In context why spend thousands on a top spec 4k tell then buy the cheapest possible cables. Not sure that's the wisest move. However, definitely stay away from the nonsense £60 cables that Curry's try to sell you. Amazon do basic 1.4 and 4k cables no brainer....
