I know there has been better deals for this (gem of a) game but this seems to be the next best thing.

Hope it helps at least one person!

Amazing, thank you so much!!
I've noticed with switch games ATM they seem to be more expensive on the second hand market than you can get new.
Very nice price, especially for a physical copy.
Just got a copy today. Any benefit in waiting for the next patch, or do I just dive in?

Just dive in. The patch is coming on Friday (so we're told) but won't have too much to add to the start of the game. Go for it, I say.

Patch is mainly aimed at new game +. So go ahead with base game. Just traded mine in fir £30 at game so that's an option for anyone after
Right, I'm going in, thanks! Didn't enjoy the Wii U version, but played the original to completion on Wii and 3DS and it's an all time favourite.

Yes X was an interesting different take on series but not as good as XC1 or 2. I wouldn't mind another X as long as it was story focused.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is very much in the same vain as Xenoblade Chronicles 1. Much more story driven and I believe there's even connections within the story to the original though I never played that. I liked Xenoblade Chronicles X because I preferred the look and awesome robots, but that was more of an off-short. (Would love to see a Switch port).

I'm only about six or so hours into XC2, the combat system is great once it opens up but there are some super rough performance issues.
The thing that prevented me from playing X was the music in the main city. Thrash metal with someone chanting "1, 2, 3, 4!", I just couldn't stomach it. Played for about 10 hours and most of the music was ok, but could not bring myself to walk around the city.
