Not a bad price for the amount of play time, but in fairness, Argos wasn't a mis-price - it stayed that price for a while until stock ran out.
Have they fixed the portable issues on this yet? Don’t think this will go any lower for awhile.

Which issues? I played 118 hours in portable and the only real issue is the odd texture loading a bit late when you load into a new area (example: salvaging animation)

The resolution is awful. I couldn't play it myself in portable mode because of that.

Saw a lot of videos of the res dropping super low in areas in hand held. Can’t argue with 100+ hours though!

Coming from the 3DS, I can't say it bothers me.
Can't believe Switch games are finally dropping to still much more than I am used to paying for a game!
Fantastic game, well worth the price!

The resolution does drop significantly at times (when the action is intense) but it really isn't a problem. It mainly happens in battle when you're focused more on your special move cooldown timer and where you're positioned around the enemy - the lack of detail on models and environment is inconsequential as far as I'm concerned.

There are moments of slowdown in the town and in battle sometimes. Nothing too ghastly, just push through it and you're fine. It's an RPG so it's rare that you're going to find slowdown irritating as it won't impact gameplay given the nature of how this type of game plays out.

There are so many interesting mechanics at play in this game so I'd say that it's really worth it if you're into the genre. Put the technical limitations aside and dive in would be my recommendation.
Currently out of stock for me. Damn. Was thinking of getting it too.
Strange how all the Amazon deals that included the code yesterday went cold as the deal was in fact the code but today all the Tesco deals using the same codes go hot

Because Amazon only allowed to use code once and most games are overpriced there

speaking for the masses there or just your opinion?

Just my opinion, hardly find any bargains there yesterday. End up buying groceries to use that £10 off

I was genuinely too busy fighting and whatnot to pay too much attention. It's a small screen and less noticeable than on the 55" I used for a couple of hours.

Don't forget - unless you view those videos of handheld mode on the same size screen as the switch, if makes it look far worse than reality!

As above - battles are bonkers and frantic, and I openly admit that I didn't have time to focus much on graphics.
121 hours in portable mode and still working my way through chapter 8 (of 10). My first impressions weren't particularly good but I'm glad I stuck with it, it's now easily my favourite game on the Switch. There's an obscene number of things to do and it's easy to get distracted by exploration and side quests.

Don't forget the free Japanese Voice Pack from the eShop! I truly despised the English dub.
The Xenoblade Wiki is also pretty handy for Blade development as it's often difficult to remember where different species live.

Well, the bandwagon is nearly full, but, okay! I personally found it to be blown out of proportion and comparisons were made with images much, much larger screen than the default 6.2" screen on the Switch. We all know a lot of games have dynamic scaling, but it rarely resulted in anything close to being unplayable.

Screenshots are not representative of playing a game really. Video is better and fairer.

Maybe people are expecting a bit too much from a game of this scale, on a mobile device? XC1 was hardly a looker - at least they got the eyes right this time! (with a nice subtle nod to the old style later on, for those that managed to finish it).

Game FAQs is way better than the Wiki in fairness. The Wiki is still needing a lot of work to be remotely complete. That said, the game is seriously huge...! I finished on 118 hours, but got annoyed at waiting for cores to wake up or open with rares, so I traded for Skyrim after finishing (I only paid £30, so can't complain).

Also, for anyone who played XC1 to the end (and enjoyed it), I'd say that this is unmissable. Seriously.
Great game, spent 150 hours on it, split between handheld and docked.

No issues in handheld either, you can see the resolution get pretty low if you take a screenshot but who cares? Apparantly people do

It's not unplayable I just expected it to be HD and not 480p.

But even 720p is not proper HD and plenty of games dynamically scale lower than 720p on the small screen.

It's not really an issue in reality, but all reviews call it out as something to be aware of - I don't think it's affected its metacritic score of 83, which is pretty decent.

Personally, I noticed more of the flaws playing on a 55" screen at best option (1080p @ 40ppi), than at worst on 6.2" screen (480p @ 129 ppi).

I'm seemingly sticking up for this a bit too much; it's a terrible reason to not buy this game.

The game is amazing. I'd just say play it on the TV.

And that, my friend, is what makes the Switch a great platform. Differences in opinion aside, it gives people an option depending on preference.

Marvellous!
