Good reviews, looks smart, and a bargain for under £65 delivered (using Saver 5 day delivery).

No, it won't be as good as the Richer Sounds deal for the AV Receiver and 5.1 package, but should add some depth to set ups where you don't have anything at the moment!

Anyone know how good this is? Is it outdated in any way?

The first review is from March 2012 if that helps.

Not my thing but the xenta soundbar was excellent for the money so this should be the same

Mine is brilliant

Is it an actual decoder or just the speaker/amp and a surround processor is still required?

I am looking for a decent sound system for my Sony 42" tv would this be compatable? As I am on a budget & dont want to pay over the odds for a sony sound bar

Seems very low price... I'm interested yet sceptical. Someone pretend we are in Dragon's Den and I'm a dragon. Sell it to me, GO!

Some strange reviews " Bad Points−
The description is very misleading, I have not been able to use it as can't connect it, I got a professional to try and was told its been missold as cinema surround sound, in fact it is a karaoke with surround speakers." ?

I'm not sure how these work, will it work with a Blu-ray player, 3D films etc?

Lol that tickled me

Has phono inputs for all channels round the back (rear speaker, sub etc ) so I'd say looks like you need a separate decoder.

I bought the soundbar back in July and last week it started playing up. I wouldn't buy xenta products again. They do offer good performance but it's short lived in my opinion. ebuyer were great though and refunded me straight away

Pls don't buy this product as it's the worst home cinema system u would ever buy.....I currently have a wizzling high pitch noise from all the speakers and ebuyer wouldn't even help in solving the issue and redirected me to xenta. It's a crappy system.

Doesn't seem to have HDMI or Optical input from your devices. Seems like it is cheap for a reason.

I agree, this isnt the greatest system. You can get a lot bstter for a lottle bit more.

It does lack some of the connections an AV set up can have, but as an extra in a bedro, spare room, or not the main loving area this is good value.

Nice

I can tell you that is a common fault on these, if you get a working one they are pretty decent for the money.

Looking at the product gallery on ebuyer, this appears to be an entirely analogue input system. You will certainly need some kind of box that converts 1s and 0s to sensible electrical driving signals.

Looks like you could hook this up to a good quality soundcard on a PC.

If it's too complicated for you and you're afraid of lots of wires between your 'box' and this system look for optical (SPDIF) inputs on such systems.

Yep...this is intended for a PC with a 5.1 soundcard.

I considered it but it's not true Surround Sound; it connects to your TV through the red/white cables which only give out stereo output. If this connected by an Optical cable would be perfect for me after my pet rabbits chewed through all my surround sound wires including the power cable hardwired in to the subwoofer

Indoor rabbits!!!

Yuk......

I had the first generation one and the remote packed up after a week and ebuyer wanted me to send the whole kit back

Ok, you very negative and pointed out the flaws. There was no passion in this pitch and came across as a douche. For that reason I don't want to invest, I'M OUT!

Can anyone point me in the direction of a decent 5.1 surround sound with the decoder built in for about £100?

It's for my old man who can't really afford to get an av receiver as well and wants a simple setup.

It depends on your budget, there have been loads of great deals posted on here recently.

This is probably the best one £ for £ - http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/pioneer-htp-072-5-1-hdmi-3d-av-receiver-with-4k-pass-through-speaker-package-with-1656326

It depends on how stretched people want to go on their set up for surround sound.

Yeah I saw that one, don't think my set-up is high-tech enough to warrant £200 on it, even though it is a great price haha. I was thinking more sub £100, saw this but then people have been talking about decoders and such in the comments, which doesn't mean a great deal to me unfortunately. I do like the idea of those vertical sound bars though
