Considering getting something like this.

Silly question, not really technically minded, but do these have wires to connect all the speakers to the TV? or do they work by bluetooth or alike?

Thanks

is this any good ?? i would love to get this

The speakers all connect to the amp (the subwoofer) and then you connect the red/white auxiliary cables from the sub to the TV.

Also this isn't the best for a PC setup for anyone wondering. I bought something very similar from eBuyer a few years back... speakers differ but front and rear of the sub are almost identical and it only has aux inputs on the back...

bet the sound quality is basic... hard to say if it's a good deal without hearing them!

be careful with this. I have just bought the wireless one and wish I hadn't! Its not compatible with my tv (as it has no optical input) nor the dvd player which they say to buy with it as the 'perfect home cinema bundle' (which I already owned).

Apparently I can buy a optical to rca converter but that will only provide 2.1 sound so the remaining speakers will just be sat there idle.

It will be going back to them very soon ...

Wonder if anyone can help..

I'm after something similar, a subwoofer with 2 or 5 speaker setup with the amp built into the sub. I really care about sound quality so something of decent quality is preferred and digital connections a must. I don't need a standalone amp as I use a Xonar PC Card which has excellent sound processing then output the result as high PCM which only needs a simple amp. I've looked around but not much luck really, Anyone seen anything

This looks to have has no digital inputs (optical or coaxial) ... which is what most systems (DVD/Sky/Virgin/xbox/playstation etc.) would output over ... so unless you know what you're doing I'd avoid this system - if you don't know what any of the above means this isn't the system for you. Very likely you'd end up with a 5.1 system that outputs only stereo sound.

no mate. the 8" cone is in the sub woofer. the speakers have 3" cones

Great price but if you can't connect them to your PC, TV, games console etc...and get surround sound then what's the point

What inputs does it have?

Not sure why this is being voted hot

no it has 2ch stereo input and 5.1 input if you looked at the pic`s on the rear but to use the 5.1 you need an amp
but you are right about no optical which is what i want

I'm really after a sub/amp combo if poss, very nice and good value though, many thanks...

If it only has 2 channel input from the TV you're going to get dolby pro logic at best. No where near as good as dolby digital. Fine for things like Wii and PS2 but for your PS3, 360, Sky HD, this isn't going to give you proper surround sound.
Good for what it is, but be warned, it may not be what you're after...

I bought the old version they were selling a while back, got the whole thing unboxed and setup, had it on for 5 minutes and it was back in the box and send back the next morning. Totally awful kit. Awful sound and build quality.

Be VERY careful before buying to make sure it has the correct connectors on it for your current TV/DVD etc setup.

Whats also worth noting are the reviews that the item gets on ebuyer, I put an honest but negative review on and as they moderate them on the site, it didnt appear!

I agree that onkyo would be far better quality, but isn't that the same as a little known car maufacture selling a family hatchback for £1000 and then you come along and say..."Unknown brand....better to pay 15 times more for an established brand like Ford" ?

So you want a system where the sub contains the amp?

What sort of budget are you working with. Cos that'll make a HUGE difference!

Some of the little Logitech 2.1 systems are pretty decent for the money. Probably better sound quality than this. But thats in the £50 and under range. If you have more to spend, you can get much better.

At the end of the day though, an amp and speaker package is always going to be better then one of these "all-in-one" efforts. But will generally cost more .....

It doesn't have HDMI though, only composite. Bit useless for an AV Amp if you ask me...

Wonder if the spec on the bestbuy site is wrong? That amp withoout HDMI wouldn't make sense.

Here is the original post for it on here - hotukdeals.com/dea…656

And the rear image posted on there shows 4 in/1 out for HDMI?

Thanks again for all the help guys, funnily enough I've actually previously owned the above onkyo with the extra three speaker add ons but I found the bass wasn't powerfull for the room I'm in, was v-good though.

I'm not too bothered about price as a decent sound setup will last years, I may have to bite the bullet and get an amp or maybe drop to analog connections and go something like this just more high end.

again thanks
