Wow... that is cheap. Even the cheap ones from DX are more expensive than that. Hot

I have a couple of these and they are pretty good - they have a motor in them so they can be rotated and can be linked up to iPhone/iPad etc...

Cheapest Ebuyer has sold them for until now is £47.99
same price as the bay
how simple are these to setup? i mean if you no no thing about port opening and setup etc
Isn't there a problem uploading Foscam firmware to Xenta cameras? I know that's the case with the fixed IP camera I bought from eBuyer last month - they say "don't do it".

Maybe this camera's different.

Thanks for the post
i think i will buy one of these thanks.
still looking for a decent software to record.

This camera is different, 100% i have updated this camera to the firmware in the link I posted above.

Works perfect and fixes some issues.

I had a look about and would recomend...

BlueIris: blueirissoftware.com/

Actually I only recomend this if you are looking to record more than 2. If your going to record less than 2 then there are cheaper programmes.

If you know NOTHING about port opening then you will need to learn about it before you would be able to setup. You have to use NAT if you want to view them away from home. If you want to use them as a baby monitor at home etc then you dont need to know anything.

Is this better than a wired IP cam? I am looking to install a camera in my downstairs lounge looking out into my garden. Something unobtrusive. I just want it to detect movement and then send me stills or video to my phone. I only need one set up. What other software and services will I need?

Its better that you dont have to wire a cable there, all you need is a plug. Mine has been stable for 3 weeks on wireless.

For what you have described you would not need any software as the camera can alert you via email to movement, it will send you 5 pictures of the movement via email. (it cannot send video - you would need software installed on a PC that is always running to do that)

The only thing i would say is that the IR doesnt travel well through glass. So you would need an external light source ideally.

@gary

Can you recommend me an outdoor wireless cam?

How well would this indoor cam work with floodlights? I have pir floodlights so I assume if they detect movement then this camera should be fine?

I came across ispyconnect.com -I assume thats not what I require?

Can I control this remotely via a phone?

No - i dont have one so cannot recommend.

It would work pretty well i would think as long as the room the camer was in was dark, if not you would get reflections. Some people house the camera in a box that is butted up to the glass.

not seen ispyconnect.com - looks good! Anyone else used it?

Depends on what phone...

the similar foscam outdoor clones are usually pretty good not tried myself though.
You should be fine with floodlights - i use mine through the window - with IR on it's useless, however with IR off and your floodlights then it should work really well - you'll probably find that every time the lights come on that will trigger the motion sensor (adjustable on the camera).

I use sensr.net with mine, along with "camviewer" on my iphone - works well. Not sure on other phones or platforms tho.... and sensr records any movement records off site...
Between adding it to the basket and checkout they have increased the price, it's now £49.98 with free delivery
Look's like £49.98 now ....? Time to expire? Great deal though while it lasted.

Will post in this thread if the price drops back - it may be that they put it back up as lots of people were buying them.
