dont forget £5.26 for post

Original Poster

I mentioned postage in the 2nd line of the description. Was £49.99 before for the speakers so even if paying delivery, still a good deal.

Seems a good deal to me, tempted

Hope they sound as good as they look ..... ordered. Thanks

Is there any way I can use these with ps3 or skyHD? I have an ancient 5.1 that had optical input but no remote control which was a real pain when watching a film and it suddenly went loud and the neighbours would be banging on the walls lol.

I don't think it has an optical input but for the price it seems good value for a basic surround

Bought one thanks.. Amazon are knocking these out for £50.

Hot from me.

They look like Logitechs

they really do look like logitechs :P.

Cant really comment on the quality, all the reviews seem to just rave about ultra heavy bass? Bass isnt really what makes a speaker but its a cheap price so guess it can be hot.

i knew it's a rather stupid question... i would like to know how i could connect my HTC desire to a 5.1 surrounding speaker, is it a 3.5mm jack?

I can with my logitech's fine (same phone) and use them as a PC/Xbox speakers. Tempted by this so I can have one on Xbox and one dedicated to PC

Also comes to £41 if delivering to N.I

Lol cant they design their own speakers - these look almost identical to the logitech z-5500s.

When is a remote control not wireless

cable with stereo mini jack at one end going into your htc desire (or any other mp3 player/phone etc with stereo mini jack output) and 2 x rca at the other end going into the aux input of these speakers

when its wired

do these work on xbox?

They do look exactly the same as the Z5500's!!!

Right so I have xbox 360 (im guessing they will work with them) but will they also work with with my HD tv/SKY HD?

Wanted some decent but cheapish speakers as the speakers on my HD TV are dreadful.

Kenable do a massive range of cheap cables and adaptors. Postage isn't that cheap, but service is superb. Bought from them several times and even if I order at 3 o4 pm, I've always had the item the next day.

No these are not for the xbox or sky, you need a amp with optical in that supports dolby digital for that.

These are only any use for a pc i guess that has separate outputs for back/centre and fronts. Waste of time imho you'd be better getting a cheap amp from ebay.

Cheers for the reply, will give these a miss then.

Rubbish. These are multimedia speakers not simple PC speakers, you just need an RCA (phono) to RCA (phono) lead available for a few quid on eBay.

Yeh and get stereo from sky and xbox?

Still don't understand why you can't get a decent set of surround PC speakers with an optical input. Really frustrating.

The Logitech X-540s come with wired remotes. Basically like a small extension control cable with volume, power and bass controls, means you don't have to bend down to the speakers to operate the controls.

I'm surprised by how many people can't tell the difference between true 5.1 and the artificial stereo to 5.1 these things are capable of. Sometime's I can't even tell the difference, I'm the only one who can notice some difference - nobody else can. Agree with Codify though, they really need to get cheap surround sound speakers out with optical cables -surely it's not that hard?

thanks OP ordered a set ;-)

pretty a good one even better if you have a birthday week with ebuyer cos everything will be deliver for FREE

will these work with a PS3?

Out of stock, I missed out by seconds. Hoping there'll be more in soon.
