xfx 5770 xxx edition 119.99 pre order overclockersuk

seems a good price for a 5770 at the moment

Free postage for forum members?

Just purchased a xfx 5770 non xxx edition for 125 from videocardshop.co.uk (I think thats the name) which is the best price i could find at the time. The xxx edition is exactly the same apparently except its factory overclocked. Howerver i found mine easily overclocks to the same level as the xxx and beyond.

One problem i have had is that when overlocked i get screen flickers sometimes when in windows desktop/internet etc... 2d applications. When playing games (3d) its fine. I thnk this is down to drivers or a recent microsoft update...Hopefully it will be fixed soon. (It can be fixed by reverting to stock settings when not gaming)

comes with assassins creed (the original)

Seems good =)

XFX cards I've had the experience of in the past were virtual leaf-blowers. Anyone know about this one?

Compared to my 4870 sapphire which had a massive heatsink and big fan in the middle its slightly louder when idle but its still quiet. Anything over say 50% is pretty loud. 70-100% would give flymo a run for their money

Although from my experience the fan never goes beond 50% and running mw2 it gets to around 60 degrees. (40 idle) (lots of case ventalation)

My 4890 is quiet =)

I have 2 XFX 5770's, great cards, not particularly noisey (they use the stock cooler).
