B*llocks

Voted Hot !

Don't forget quidco also.

Btw, it's been at this price for a week or so now. Ordered mine on Saturday and received on Tuesday with the free delivery so props to Novatech for that.

The card itself is not so hot, or should I say, too hot. Single slot cooler is rubbish and my card clocks like rubbish. Another thing is that the specs on Novatech are wrong. This card comes with standard 8800 GT clocks:

Core: 600MHz
Shader: 1500MHz
Memory: 900MHz (1800MHz effective)

Other than those niggles, great card for the money. I don't see ATI's upcoming cards beating this in price/value.

Try popping into PCWorld for a XFX Nvidia 8800GS 348mb at only £49.97.

Doubt there is a huge difference between these two. But a huge £20 quid in the pocket.

Probably 20-25% difference in performance between the two. If you're going to play with AA, you're gonna notice a big difference. Saying that, the GS is a good deal also but I haven't seen any at PC World. I thought that 8800 GS deal expired a few months ago??

Ive got one of these cards and bought a zalman cooler for it now runs perfect

Hi, I have about £900 to spend on a gaming PC but have got no idea about what spec to go for. Could anybody suggest what I should be looking for?

You need a monitor with that build?

Core i7 920 - £235
Asus P6T SE - £165
Nvidia GTX 275 - £200
6GB (3x2GB) - £75
1TB HDD - £70

You'd need some other bits and bobs of course but that's the main components I'd go with. If you a need a monitor though, you probably won't be able to get an i7 system for £900. You'd be looking at an AMD Phenom II in that case.

I was looking at an Arctic Cooling Accelero Twin Turbo for about £20 but then I'm going into 9800 GTX / 250 territory. I only need this card to last until the end of this year when I'll be doing a new build...hopefully.

cool the card does get quite hot the the crapy cooler it comes with, i wanted to melt it with playing games all the time so thought it best to grab a new coolder, the zalman ZF1000 does an ace job and really east to fit.

Im tempted by a 2nd for sli but there are better cards im gonna upgrade to soon. Nice to get a rough price to sell this one for tho

I have this card and had it for at least a year when it was a lot dearer. Fantastic Card runs everything really well...Crysis Warhead, Necrovision etc and great for movies. Can't go wrong at that price and will last longer than the end of the year. I have had no trouble at all with heating all I do is put several fans in the box 2 to draw in air and 2 to extract and thats more than ok

Call of Duty, World at War Runs sweet .

:-D

great card

Hey all, I have a BFG 8800GT with 512mb. I also have a Asus M2N32-SLI DELUX. So I can run another card in SLi. I've been outta the game for well over a year now and cant remember if I can run a competitors card ie this XFX with my BFG card in SLi? Also, would I notice much of an improvement?

You can SLi different brands no problem as long as the cards both have the same GPU. Bear in mind that if your BFG is overclocked then it will downclock to match the slower card.

2 x 8800GT in SLi are pretty much awesome. They scale great with AA and higher resolutions. Depending on the game, you'll get up to 80% better performance, maybe even more.
