I have one of these in my gfs gaming pc. great little performa for the money but don't expect running the latest games on high settings
Good value at £40, especially with the game thrown in. Will pep up a lower spec system.
This will work fine along with a fx 6300 CPU won't it, providing there is a pci express slot?

It will yes for 6 months I had one of these with a i5. It came with Far Cry 3 free and it played it fine at 1080 at medium settings. As a poster mentioned this will crossfire nicely with a AMD 5800K APU.

It will yes, but there's no crossfire capability as that CPU doesn't have an in built GPU.
It's a decent card, but around this price you can buy second hand 460's that completely demolish this card, along with a 7770! Personally that's what I'd go for but this is good if you have a poor PSU. Have some heat

Why only for 6 months?
Been looking at this for a while. Saw the price in dabs a week ago but didn't think it was that great a deal cos you have to pay for 99p p&p, whilst amazon have it for less than £41 too. I guess of you want the game then it's better than the amazon price

toying with the idea of a 460 now but as its a micro atx case i could run in to a few problems
wish the gf would just go full hog and let me build her a proba full size rig any one know if i can make a cx500 psu fit in a
micro atx case

easily yes. just because it's micro atx doesn't mean you cannot fit normal pc hardware. typically it's just a smaller motherboard but check the case can fit a full size card and a normal psu
Does anybody know if this Is this the DDR3 or DDR5 version?
Thanks

Scan says DDR3 - scan.co.uk/pro…i-d

As does Amazon - amazon.co.uk/XFX…OXS

In which case I'd probably find something else instead of this to be honest (even if you have to buy second hand).
Stupid question, but will this handle Skyrim? I'm building a PC on the cheap and that's the only game I'm looking at playing.

Mistype sorry. I meant to say I had one for 6 months before I got a 7850.

It will yes. I can't remember what settings I had it on but I was playing it at 1080p at 30+ FPS.

I wanted to know that too and according to this here: … I wanted to know that too and according to this here: http://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php?g_id=625&game=The%20Elder%20Scrolls%20VYou can max out skyrim with this card as long as ram and cpu also meet the requirements.

I hate to tell you that you are wrong, but you are dead wrong. Even at 720p there is no way you are going to be running Skyrim on max settings on this card with 30fps or more - even the DDR5 version wouldn't be able to handle that, let alone the DDR3. I have one of these cards, believe me - it's definitely a media card/non-graphically intense games at low/medium settings at 30fps at best.
