Thanks, now noted.

Anyone know when the rx490 is supposed to be released?

I'm holding out between that and the fury, as they may have similar performance

Fyi same price at Amazon

A considerably lower spec card? Why?

how close is this to a 1070

Specs are never as important as real-world performance. The 1060 and Fury are matched at 1080P, and the Fury only pulls ahead by ~10% at 1440P. £260 versus £230, so even at 1440P the 6GB 1060 offers better bang for your buck. And it remains to be seen how well that 4GB of HBM will age.

Although for someone with a living-room PC (not an ITX build) and a 4K TV, or someone who has inexplicably got a PC with a 4K monitor and a lousy graphics card, this is a great option.

(This deal is just for the Fury - you might be thinking of the Fury X?)

I'm voting hot for the price and performance but it IS a power hungry card (a pair of 8 pin power connectors is required), it's HUGE and isn't as fresh as the current ATi cards

Avoid any XFX cards they are awful for breaking and RMA process is a joke.

I got a used one from amazon for £180 and can say it is closer to a 1070 in terms of performance than towards a 1060. Witcher 3 was my main test and I was getting a solid 70fps+ with ultra settings and hairworks off. Theres only 2 reasons to get a 1060 over this is, 1. It consumes half the amount of power of the Fury, 2. 6GB of GDDR5 RAM over 4GB HBM, and I say this because I was using 3.5GB of it during GTA 5, which means that 4GB wont be very future proof.

ridiculous that this never price dropped more. in america it was $240 dollars during november. stupid pricing in the uk.

US prices are without tax, which they add at checkout. $240 is £195, plus 20% VAT = £234, so that isn't far off. Brexit devaluation of the GBP.
