Cold from me.

Struggling to see why this is cold...has been on my list for a while. Price seems v. good compared to other 290s.

Any advice appreciated before I buy

why cold? it's a great price for a 290 and a good looking card as well

xfx run super hot and have truly terrible customer service. good enough if you can super cool otherwise avoid. having to deal with this company atm for a card running 115c with excessive cooling in my case

This card in particular runs cooler than many other 290s. This one is built to run past 90c with no issues. I did have an issue with an XFX 4850 a few years ago with ran far too hot...but I did 0 research on that card and it was a common problem.

There fixed that for you. XFX's Tahiti cards were very poor: hot and loud. But their new Hawaii cooler is much better and they are now one of the cooler cards:

No idea about XFX's customer service but the new cooler is complete turn-around.

Ok mr generalisation do you have first hand experience with this particular model? I'm guessing no, I haven't and I'm not arguing either way if you're right or wrong simply asking if you've used the card before posting such a comment regarding the running temps.

As for the customer support issue it would seem you've not read the description, doubt you'll read the link but it's here for others who want to /can be bothered to read regarding the cs situation when buying from ocuk

You have a couple of groups voting cold here:

1) in which sausager belongs(would be my guess) are the 'ban fowler' brigade who irrationally vote anything I post as cold regardless it could be the best deal out there and they wouldn't care.

2) the clueless console gamers/other non PC gamers.

Was fully expecting this

Ignore it fowler. Good price for a 290, was considering buying one at Aria for 280 on Saturday, this shaves off £20. Can't find a cheaper one anywhere after a quick search...though hoping someone will prove me wrong

Very good price, plus interesting new focus from XFX on warranties

I have ignored the members of group 1(unfortunately the email alert doesn't distinguish the people on ones ignore list and shows all/most comments), group 2 is unavoidable whoever you are going by all the graphics cards deals I've seen on here.

It's actually £269.99(well it depends on where you are and which delivery option you choose I suppose) unless you're member of the ocuk forums and have a certain number of posts.

Good price, voted hot. Some people never happy.

Extremely hot. Overclockers deals get voted cold by people not eligible for free delivery and left wing liberals who hate that the previous owner supported a right wing party.
