Just a heads up that XFX are accepting RMA for any card that runs hot as early batches of these had some poorly designed backplates and memory cooling which has since been addressed.

Otherwise a great card for the price.

Easy to do a Bios update to the Thicc 2 5700xt bios to turn this into a 5700xt minus a couple of compute units and a power phase. Still matches the reference 5700xt in performance after update.
Open box card
How likely is a similar deal to come up in the next month or so?

If ebay do another 15% code soon CCL deals will come up again to knock it down to about this.
or if a 20% code come up itll be knocked down to about this vua ebuyer but wont include CCL as they not opted in for 20% by the look of things.

K cheers bud
Thanks OP.....

I am going to wait and see what happens in the GPU potential price war.
(makes you think that if companies can do massive drop in price, how much the small man gets ripped off)
... 1 available and its an open box - meaning someone returned the item for some reason (heat issue/fan issue/memory issues/overclock issues ... or just plain they didnt want it). But given all that. 268 for a 5700 is a decent deal but you might have issues with it. And like someone said you can get a 5700xt -4% (what the peeps say). ie 5700 and a 5700 xt is worth what 14% more and a bios mod is worth 10%.
Im sitting here with a red devil 5700 (modded to a xt that I just got last week and its a treat!).
Got one when they did 20% off on ebay last month. Good card for the money. I havn't been able to find a suitable BIOS to softmod to an XT, model ID's don't match up and it bricks the card. Dual BIOS though, so can be saved. Mine runs cool and doesn't break sweat playing Battlefield 5 at 1080 ultra.
ive used tons of open box specials.... not had any issues.. least they get tested for whatever reason.. and if its an unwanted return always gonna have to be rechecked, as security seals can easily be resealed and look like they not been opened. vs brand new dead on arrival which does happen occasional due to manufacturer errors.

Yeah open box is absolutely no issue for me. Only for laptops because of superficial scratching
How does fair against a 2080 Super?

Just off the top of my head 30% slower? 5700 xt is neck and neck against 2070 super. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

When I flashed my Sapphire Pulse to an XT it wasn’t that much faster “out of the box”, I had to do some over clicking to get it towards XT performance, increasing frequencies, power limits and a bit of undervolting to keep is reasonably quiet and cool. At XT performance it drew around 210W and was fairly noisy. I have dual Bios and run mine as a vanilla 5700. I play at 1440p 75hz (freesync) and don’t really need garet frames at the moment.
Nice

I returned one few weeks ago(can it be this one?) The fans were making a rattling noise when they reach certain rpm. Ended up with the gigabyte 3 fan version and its running no problem.
