dont get how this is a deal, its grossly overpriced, the msrp of the 580 8gb is £200 even the msrp of the 580 Aorus 4gb was around £180.
i must be missing something, and its not all down to mining

It's £30 cheaper than other websites and most places don't have stock.

I agree with you. The GPU market is mad right now and there are no bargains as everything is selling more than what's it's worth. Cards are selling on eBay for more than the RRP.

i been holding off, i rather not get into this market the way it is, the time will come where there will be a glut of cards and prices will fall, the downside though im stuck with my 7950 untill the madness ends

I've just built my new pc and I'm relying on integrated graphics (HD 630). I'm swaying between buying a cheap card and buying a better card in six months when the volta cards are out, or just paying over the odds for an 1080ti right now.

I need to get something within the next week or so.

When mining slows down the market is going to be flooded with cards.

I hope so im holding off but cant run shit with a gtx650 these days
Overpriced COLD.
I can't see this one as deal either. If only if it would be closer to the £200 or under that.
I paid £260 for my 8GB card a few weeks back. Overpriced yes but not so much when you compare it to 1060 6GB prices. The "mining bubble" isn't going to burst anytime soon and with RAM prices through the roof too it's debatable how much effect it would have anyway. Reviews for Titan V also don't suggest it's going to do amazing things for the mainstream so really it's the same old story of volatile prices and the next big thing around the corner. When was the last time a new CPU or GPU came out and made everything else obsolete? Just doesn't happen anymore.

Get your 1080ti and enjoy it OP. Yes, in six months time they might be on clearance for a few quid less or a new card might offer a few extra FPS but does it really matter? You'll still have awesome card.

Amazon and Scan have some RX 570 for the £200 mark, it’s close enough performance wise (with minor tweaking) to the RX 580 and pretty power efficient. I agree it’s overpriced but waiting for it to come down and depriving yourself of gaming inbetween seems like cutting your nose off to spite your face!

Besides - you could always use it for mining when not gaming to offset the extra you paid out
I picked up a gtx 1060 3gb from ebuyer ebay brand new for £156. Don't see y anyone would pay another 60 quid for the rx580 when u can get the 1060 for £180

If you haven't already bought a new card from this generation and can wait then don't be buying now. We're 18 months into this generation, it's near the end. Buy at the start of the next in 2018.
Yeah this is the best priced RX 580 around right now. If you're patient all GPUs will be getting cheaper in the new year, plus the second hand market is gonna get flooded.

That said, if your old one blew up you'll struggle to find more performance for less without going second hand.

Yeah I've been looking at the ethereum rates of cards. Apparently the 580 is 25 out the box and nearly 30 if you overclock it. You'd make it back in a few months.

You won't make much, but you should be able make enough to pay back the card and if the price increases you could make some more.

I'm looking at it that if I do some mining on the side and I make a little back, then it's a bonus.

The 1060 6gb have been on offer for 210 and 220 while the 3gb have been as low as 157 and more commonly 180. Not sure how the 260 quid 580 can hold a candle to the 6gb model

Depends. Some of us mine using spare solar capacity (FIT is fixed). It's never going to change my life. More of a hobby that makes a few pounds.

At the other end of the scale there are others who bypass the meter and steal the electric. Mining is safer than growing weed.

Others use work machines to mine at night (without bosses knowing).

But the majority I suspect do it as a hobby using the hardware they have when they are not gaming.

I don't expect a flood based on mining, but usually when new hardware is released.

You're refering to the Zotac Mini? No doubt a decent card but there is an arguement about the value added by better coolers, components and all that jazz. I could also mine and resale value is likely to be strong. I would compare my Nitro+ with cards from Asus and Gigabyte, not a single fan Zotac. Ultimately my decision was influenced by some AMD fanboism and looks/cooling due to my case choice and colour scheme. I'm super happy with the end result ymmv.

The msi was on sale for 220.

Palit for 215 2 fans. hotukdeals.com/dea…669

Gigabyte for 233 hotukdeals.com/dea…475

Also the xfx is a weak brand. My last xfx card had multiple popped capacitors after 1 years use.

There was an msi two fan for 220 but I am having issue finding it on my mobile.

anyway, short answer is no, not the zotac mini.

It depends on what cryptocurrency you're mining. Some cards seem to perform better with certain currencies than others, though in general AMD appear to be giving the best bang for buck, which is why they are selling out.

Apart from one or two days in October/November, this is the lowest the card I shared has been. See uk.pcpartpicker.com/pro…fd6

The lowest the Gigabyte card you shared is £250, not £220 or £230. See uk.pcpartpicker.com/pro…6gd

(Granted, I am relying on PCPartPicker here - perhaps there were one off deals with other companies that PCPartPicker doesn't track).

Not trying to pick holes in your argument for the sake of it. I see a lot of GPU and SSD deals posted on HotUKDeals and many users are saying the deal is poor because prices were better 3 months, 6 months, or 12 months ago; forgetting that GPU and SSD prices keep going up and aren't expected to drop for a while.

I certainly didn't post the deal of the century. I know that. However, I also know AMD cards are rarely in stock and this was the lowest price for this card.

You’re right on this. I say, just buy it and enjoy, otherwise time waiting around for a few quid saving is time wasted and we’re always complaining about how short life is!

Though I did pick up a few of these cards on 20th November from GFDirect via Amazon for £210.08 but in real world use, can’t tell a lot of difference between this and an RX 570. It’s a great looking design though.

If it helps anyone, Novatech have the PowerColor RX 570 available at £215.99 (Red Devil), the cheaper Dragon model is on backorder.

Yeah zcash seems to be the card of choice for 1080tis and other Nvidia cards.

What script are you using to mine? I've been looking at my options. I assume you're in a pool too. I've bookmarked a few articles about zcash and every one recommends different mining scripts and different pools.
