HOW on their flagship latest 2023 release can the selfie cam STILL only be 1080p mate 🤷
50014025-8PsHA.jpgAnd have the DREADED "Virtual Proximity Sensor" 😔

    Cold. £899 for this junk?

Blinded by specs as always. MIUI is actual turd, as all Chinese skins are.

It kinda depends, I've had a pretty good experience with MIUI and will probably be buying a Xiaomi 13 Ultra or 13 Pro soon. I would look at the Samsung s23 ultra but after taxes and a new fast charger it's more expensive in the US, with less features I use. One of the more important features being 90w or 120w charging, which isn't supported by the s23u so I just can't justify buying it. But hey, MIUI isn't for everyone🤷‍♂️

good deal but wouldnt buy a xiaomi for this price.

bought a s23 ultra 512gb for 890 at preorder (stacked a bunch of codes together) and its miles better than all the xiaomi products ive ever used. Samsung dex is amazing and the UI overall is just more polished. No need to flash anything like xiaomieu it just works perfect out the box.

I loved xiaomi all this time until the prices started going up. they used to make 2.5% profit per device and promised to continue that but they havent. owned the mi5s, mi6, mi note 2, mix 3 5g, poco f2 pro and briefly the mix 4 (until I returned it). Bought these flagships for 150-300* (minus the mix 4) or so back in the day. Xiaomi asking for real flagship money for a fake flagship experience is just a funny situation. theyve only JUST upgraded from usb c 2.0 to 3.2 with this phone, i do hope they keep improving their phones. Hardware wise its good, software wise its a crapshow.

This shouldnt cost more than 600 in my opinion. For now I'll keep my eye on xiaomi i do have high hopes for them in the future and would love to go back if they either polish things up or drop prices back down. Let's hope for the former and see

The only reason to buy Chinese brand is the price, and it’s losing it.

Absolutely beautiful phone, just can't justify in my head the price. I've just grabbed a new mi11 ultra 512 ROM 12 ram Even though it's been out for two years. Hopefully I'll replace it with this beautiful phone in two years time from now! This 13 is an excellent beast of a phone. (edited)

    It is beautiful.

I do similar but I let it ride longer between release and buying it Last phone was a Mi 8 and just bought a Mi 9t Pro with the pop up camera and SD855. Does everything I want it to. And surely one of the best looking mid range phones they have ever produced. And the only Xiaomi I've had that is coveted by my iPhone loving friends. (edited)

what an absolute beast of a device, watched the launch on this and they pulled out all the stops to cram in as much as possible while keeping the price low in its launch country china. Shame the price will be unlikely to translate globally as VAT and all other charges added for freight etc will push it's price north of what was announced in China

Is it? The specs don't look that good. Why so few 5G (n) bands on it?

I cannot see why it costs so much.

Wonda have become my go to retailer. Never had anything but great service from them. Phone itself is pretty meh. I think we've hit a point on these slab phones where they are now pretty much all the same with very little progress apart from larger camera sensors and faster charging. I don't see much difference in this and flagships from 2 years ago. The only phones which have excited me over the last couple of years are foldables which I've had ahem (don't tell the Mrs) quite a few. (edited)

Shed loads, you would have sold the phone well before updates run out.

The best supported Xiaomi is the CN model, unlock and move to the dev rom for a support level that will blow your mind.

NO BAND 20. This means no 800mhz 4G signal.

This should be specified and explained in the title and description for those who blindly purchase without knowing the repercussions ... (edited)

Still very happy with my oppo find x2 pro, 3 years old now and the 12gb / 512gb will be good enough for a long time, still, nice to see a 1" sensor are coming out in phones now.

I think mine is great and it has just updated to Android 13 but I get a lot of lens flare in sunny conditions. I am beginning to wonder if there is a lens cover I didn't take off when it was new. It looks like there might be but daren't pick too hard. Do you recall if yours had a protector on? Thanks (edited)

Probably but only in some ways and not in others. Main camera will deffo be a bit better esp if the lens is actually as good as they say. Other areas are mostly a tie. And the honor in UK will be much cheaper.

What is the situation with warranty? Know when I bought zenfone few years ago they wouldn't even talk to me, appeared as grey import and they said only the retailer could deal with it and the went bust. Forget their name (edited)
