Anyone own one of these and can comment on the video quality at night?

is this one of those that the app/menu is only in Chinese?

Looks a very nice piece of kit & stimulates my Xiaomi obsession!

Can't seem to find any reviews of it anywhere unfortunately.

Tempting to buy it...

Be aware, this is not one of the Xiaomi branded products. It's designed and manufactured by Die for information technology (Shanghai) co., LTD.

They are in collaboration with Xiaomi and they also have the Xiaomi branded dashcam gearbest.com/car…tml But no, this 70 minutes smart wifi car dvr has nothing to do with Xiaomi.

gearbest.com/car…tml
here you can get original xiaomi dashcam even cheaper:)

Xiaomi appears to be running a Chinese version of Dragon's Den. Apart from their core products (mainly phones and computers), they appear to be licencing their name to all kinds of odds and ends. A rather risky strategy if these products end up diluting their brand name, but I guess very profitable as well.

Thought the point of this site was to get deals for us in the uk, if its for sale here then surely all languages should be supported. With your logic all samsungs should be shipped here with south korean language only yeah? Confused by your reply & not helpful

Unfortunately, Gearbest is not "here" in the UK - it's based in China/HK from what I can tell (without going to look specifically), but offer a decent service whereby items for sale are quoted in GBP.

I've ordered a number of Xiaomi items from China and been entirely satisfied (headphones, smart band, smart light bulbs etc). China is Xiaomi's first market - we in the rest of world sometimes get localisation options, and sometimes don't.

i didnt say it was a uk based company, it sells & ships to the uk is what i was saying so surely "just chinese language" isnt acceptable, i bought my spare android phone from there which is a cubot (main phone is iphone) and it supports english which was my point. Doesnt matter where companies are based, if they are selling to certain countries then surely you would support those languages, its just common sense.

But Xiaomi are honest - they sell international versions and make it clear when they do. It's down to the buyer to decide if they want to buy items from China and use them, however.

I don't doubt at all, that they will include English in updates in the future (they often do), but your example of Samsung TVs isn't fair, as they sell models specifically for Europe, configured for Europe, from EU shops/retailers.

If you buy directly from China, for the Chinese market, it stands to reason you should expect some Chinese.

i understand your point, however.. buying a dash cam that is slightly reduced because it is in chinese language and cant be changed isnt a deal that should be on this site and shouldnt be on here (in my eyes), most dash cam menus are terrible even in english, imagine the effort to have to try to translate it then edit the settings, how about putting up the international version on here that we can all use? as its not all about the end price, ease of use especially for some of the non tech people out there is a key factor. anyways, have a good day, i best get on with some work

No, you're right and I don't disagree. But this site has it's quirks and people love a deal and will find time to complain later if needs be!

FWIW, I didn't vote either way. I've not looked lately, but I still believe that the Mobius cam is the best value for money, though it's not anywhere near as cheap as this. Things change all the time though, so it may well be the case something else is the recommended purchase.

Ermmmm.....i dont think you understand the context of a joke? Lol

In that case applying YOUR type of logic, if someone asked you "why did the chicken cross the road?"

Your reply would be:

"but which road is this? Is it the M6? A25?, is there street lighting? How tall is the chicken? What is its wingspan? Has it already laid its eggs so that it would be 25g lighter per egg? Therefore reducing egg-in-chicken mass which should create greater chicken-crossing-road efficiency, also what is the purpose of crossing the road? Does it really need to cross this road? Can it not hop over to the nearest traffic light and cross from there?"

Did you put a "ha" or a "lol" at the end like your last remark? no, which is why it wasnt taken as a joke. if u had i wouldn't of even replied as i have a sense of humour and wold of seen the funny side of it. anyways, enjoy your day :-)

I wasnt aware that every dry-joke had to end with either a "ha" or "lol"? Not sure how thats going to work out at my next stand-up gig at the local pub.....................

All will run on a USB battery should you wish though I run ours from a permanently live accessory socket and choose to leave them plugged in if I want to record while parked. Car batteries will survive fine unless you don't use the car for days or have an elderly battery.

Doesn't work in the UK at all.You need a Chinese mobile number to receive a code so that you can connect to the camera.
Avoid.

Does anyone know of a similar form factor dash cam that's around this price? I'm looking to set up a rear one and I like these semi low profile cylinder ones but I'm not sure about dropping the £ for Blackvue.
